Boots No7 Soft and Sheer Tinted Moisturizer

    Great for south asian skin

The orange undertones in the medium shade make this a great foundation for skins with darker golden/yellow undertones. It evens out my complexion and does almost as good a job as my foundation did but feels light and matte all day.

  • Maybelline New York Fit Me! Foundation

I love this foundation. I am South Asian so most foundations look too ashy on me. But I got this foundation in 310 and it offers great coverage - smooths out my uneven skin tone. I use a primer underneath it (Rimmel London) which helps it last longer but I agree that it doesn't last more than 6-7 hours. I have also realized that I need to cover the foundation with a moisturizer or highlighter of some time because it can start looking matte and powdery by the end of the day but that's an easy fix. All in all, this is the best foundation I have used so far, way better than Mac or Clinique which leave me feeling caked. I am going to buy the rest of the products in this line as well

  • Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 45

I have tanned, brown skin and I always worry about sunscreens looking too ashy and white on my skin. But this is a perfect product for me. Sinks right into the skin, leaves no trace of oiliness and actually can act as a primer in a pinch. I use SPF 70 right now but can't wait to get SPF 100.

  • Befine Daily Moisturizer SPF 15

I swooned when I read the ingredient list - pomegranate, rice bran and rosemary - couldn't be better, right? WRONG. It moisturizes really well but looks like an oil slick on my face and the shine doesn't leave my face even after the lotion has been absorbed. I'm now using it for dry elbows.

  • Tend Skin Liquid

    Tend Skin Liquid

Removes ingrowns with long use but doesn't prevent them

I wax my legs regularly but can awful ingrown hair all over - it looks so bad that I have stopped wearing skirts and dresses. My salon recommended Tend Skin. I applied it every day for a month and over time it would weaken the ingrowns enough so that I could scrub them out. But that still leaves a scar behind after the hair is removed. Tend Skin does not prevent in-growns for me which is too bad. It's pricey so I think I am going to only use it for a few days after waxing and make it last since applying it daily doesn't do anything.

  • Sally Hansen Creme Hair Remover Kit For Face, Upper Lip & Chin

I have tried a lot of different depilatories, in US and elsewhere and this one is the best I have used so far. I had been using Nair for a while but it darkened my skin and was a pain to apply. Sally Hansen creme remover is great for removing facial hair... I leave it for 7-8 minutes and wipe it off with a tissue; the right time to remove it is when you begin to feel it slightly congealing on your face - when wiping it off, pull in your skin to tighten it and then slowly but with pressure, wipe a tissue or cloth over the creme in a direction opposite to that of hair growth. The hair comes out cleanly and leaves your skin feeling smooth. DO NOT rub back and forth over the area where you applied the creme - that's a recipe for raw, red skin. Just press down and wipe in one direction. Repeat if needed. For the tougher chin hair, I sometimes have to apply it twice. I have used it all over the face and found it gentle. I usually apply it every 3 days for the chin area but I have a lot of hair there. The best part is the soothing, collagen creme that comes with it - it calms my skin instantly and reduces any redness or rawness.

  • Almay Hypo-Allergenic Clear Gel

    Almay Hypo-Allergenic Clear Gel

Works well; better than solid sticks

I have begun to hate solid stick deodorants... inevitably, after a month or so, the solid stick breaks or crumbles. That's why I decided to go with a gel this time. The application is really easy - you can twist the wheel to control how much product you want. It takes a bit longer to dry but not more than 2 minutes. I apply it the first thing after I get out of the shower and dry off and by the time I moisturize, it's dry. It is fragrance free so you feel fresh but not over-powered by fake smells. I don't have to worry about it breaking or crumbling or leaving white marks.

  • Bumble and bumble defrizz

    Bumble and bumble defrizz

A little goes a long way but can be oily

I use very little of this product since a couple of drops are enough for my shoulder-length bob. It works fine at combating frizz if I use it on wet hair, but on dry hair it's a bit too oily and manages to make my hair clump into tendrils. I have used other hair serums that were more lightweight and kept my hair flowing and voluminous. I usually don't blow dry my hair so perhaps that limits the effectiveness of this product. I probably wouldn't buy it again - I'd rather pay a bit more and get something lighter.

  • Jane Blushing Cheeks Blush

    Jane Blushing Cheeks Blush

a little goes a long way

I was pleasantly surprised with this blush - when I saw it in the box I thought I'd need to apply a lot to get color but one sweep and it brightened my cheeks immediately, but without making it look so obvious that I am wearing blush. I wish the product were a bit more blendable and perhaps not as dry but the sheer, natural finish outweighs these cons. Apply it with a brush if you want more control over how it gets blended.

  • Rimmel London Lasting Finish Foundation

I love this product. I accidentally picked up the Rimmel London Face Primer once at a store but it turned out to be a great find. It's tinted so it worked really well for me as a foundation. Even though the color was light, on my skin the primer just seemed to give an airbrush effect but still let me skin shine through. I wasn't able to find it in the store last time I went but I picked up the long lasting foundation instead and it's wonderful. Light-weight, non-cakey, paraben-free, yet smooths over unevenness and blotches and stays put all day. I am going to try other products from this brand.
