Clarisonic Mia Sonic Skin Cleansing System

would prefer a 9 and a half rating

I bought this for myself for Christmas after wanting one for years. I have been using it for almost 4 weeks. For years, my skin was super oily yet very dry/flaky/patching all at the same time and even in the same places. My husband would laugh and say "how can it be oily and dry/peeling? that doesn't even make sense". It never made much sense to me either. No face wash has ever solved my problems. "Combination" cleansers and moisturizers are just laughable. Once I finally broke down and bought my Clarisonic Mia 2, these problems were gone in 2 days. Severe breakouts did continue throughout the first week but now are almost gone. I am talking about those deep cyst-like zits too. I had not had any until a few months ago when I changed my medication. I was having 3 or 4 at a time. As soon as one would go away a different one would form. Way more than I had ever had as a teenager. The ones I had when I started using my Mia 2 went away quickly (comparatively) and no new ones ever came back thanks to the deep cleaning from my Mia 2. I choose the Mia 2 ($149) versus the Mia ($119) because it has an additional year in the warranty and for the second speed. I honestly can't tell the difference in the speeds but I do have more peace of mind knowing that I have an additional year on the warranty. It wasn't cheap but definitely worth it for what it does. I now have slightly greasy and slightly dry skin. While some people may not be happy with this, I am ecstatic! It is certainly the closest to "normal" skin I have ever had. It came with the Sensitive Brush Head and I think I would either like to try the Delicate or Acne Brush Head. The Sensitive it just a little too rough. I can't even imagine the Normal or Deep Pore. Keep in mind I have VERY sensitive skin. Now to talk my husband into using one to fix his massive pores and super oily t-zone! He will use a different brush head of course.

bareMinerals Purely Nourishing Cream: Dry Skin

Loved it but just too thick for me

Unfortunately, I had to take this back even though I loved it. I was having extremely dry and peeling patches on my face and this definitely did the trick. I LOVE Bare Minerals products and they work great on my sensitive skin. Even though it did exactly what I needed it to, it also made my face sweat as soon as I put it on. The first time I used it I just assumed it was because I was rushing to get ready. Then I used it while getting ready for bed. I tried it for almost a week and every single time my face started sweating. I was really disappointed to have to take it back since it gave me such wonderfully soft skin without any sort of rash or breakouts on my sensitive and acne prone skin. I have used both of the BM face lotions for combination and normal to dry skin without any issues.

  • Bath & Body Works Signature Collection Moisturizing Shampoo

while i'm sure my hair smelled good afterwards, it was also completely dry and I could barely get a wide tooth comb through it. The matching conditioner did absolutely NOTHING other than make my hair worse. I had to jump right back in the shower and wash my hair with something else.

  • bareMinerals ORIGINAL SPF 15 Foundation

    bareMinerals ORIGINAL SPF 15 Foundation

May not work for everyone but it is perfect for me!

I started using BM almost 8 years ago. With the price, I have tried 3 other very popular foundations (both liquid and powder) but always find my way back to BM. I think the biggest thing for people to remember is that everyone's skin is so different. Just because it works for me, does not mean that it will work for you. I HAVE to use the BM Oil Control Primer with it while my sister needs no primer and my mom needs the original primer. We all use BM but in different ways because we have different needs. The most important thing I have learned is to always purchase a new product from an actual BM boutique, not Ulta or Sephora. They will let you exchange or return any product that isn't working without any problems. They will try to help you find something else that will work for you but they won't push. Not everything works for everyone and they actually understand this concept. Also, they now have 3 different forms of foundation: Original ("luminous"), Matte, and now READY (pressed). Also, the different brushes really do give you different coverage so find the one that is right for YOU.

    Philosophy Hope in a Jar

Thankful it was a FREE sample

If I had actually paid for this product with my hard earned money I would have been furious. After finally getting more balanced skin thanks to my purchase of a Clarisonic, I was looking for a face lotion that would hydrate without making me oily. THIS WAS NOT IT. It just sat on my skin, made my face itch, and smelled like a cheap dryer sheet. I expected a lot more from Philosophy. I only made it 2 hours without having to wash it off completely. Never again.

  • Wen Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing Conditioner

I have had very dry and very frizzy hair for years and have considered using Wen from the first time I saw the infomercial but did not like that it was an "auto-ship" sign up just to order. Even when QVC started selling it without renewal I just couldn't talk myself into it. Now it is sold at Sephora (online and at some stores) and I am so glad that I finally gave in a month ago!!! My hair is so soft and shiny everyday. It is disappointing that the 12 oz. bottle in the kit only last about a month but it is still worth it to me. I have waited years to have hair this healthy!

  • bareMinerals Blemish Therapy

I definitely disagree with this product being on the "Worst Acne Products" list. While I do not use this as a strictly traditional blemish clearing product, it matches wonderfully with my pale skin. I use a topical cream at night but use the BE Blemish Therapy under my makeup. It cuts down on redness and doesn't become "crusty" under my makeup as a topical cream would. I can understand why darker skinned woman would not like it but I find it a must for my pale skin. I would like to note that I use a powder foundation NOT a liquid foundation which makes a difference when using this product. Use it AFTER lotion but BEFORE foundation. It CAN be used after, however it gives the most acne clearing benefits when used beforehand.
