  • SkinCeuticals Sport UV Defense Sunscreen SPF 50

Every January, I buy three tubes of this, applying daily and re-ordering on New Year's Day. It's my favorite start to the year, in a way: a guaranteed gift and promise to myself. This is the first sunscreen that hasn't irritated my skin (due to being a physical rather than chemical block), and it also seems to work as a great makeup or non-makeup base, smoothing fine lines like a filler, and imparting evenness and a dewy sheen to my now 47-year-old skin, which looks a lot younger thanks to my New Year's ritual (I've used it for about ten years). It does go on with a kabuki-like whiteness, but a good rub in and a minute or two and it settles down. Never led to breakouts, either, back in my oilier days. I love to try new products, but this is one that there's just no use in playing around with--it is perfect.

  • Olay Regenerist Regenerating Serum Fragrance Free

I've read that scientific research supports this products as one of the truly effective anti-agers out there at any price point. My skin agrees! I have used this for a couple of years, now, and really notice a difference in the clarity and decrease in lines. It also feels soothing going on, and I love that it has a fragrance-free option. I'm reserving a star just to leave room for any improvement/the next big thing, but I've tried other, pricier serums, and I think this one is the best thing out there right now.

  • Eucerin Q10 Anti-Wrinkle Sensitive Skin Creme

This cream has a certain yumminess to me, due perhaps to its thick, buttery texture combined with its also-buttery color and fresh no-fragrance smell (if that last makes sense). I slather it on before I put on makeup to go out at night, and it keeps me dewy and wrinkle free even after cocktails and hours of sociable, crow's-feet-inducing laughter. When my skin needs a break from Retin-A, I use it as a night cream and wake up glowing. I'm not sure that there's enough COQ10 to lead to these results, but something in there works for me. I love the little jar aesthtetically, too: there's soemthing very cute, antique and European about it--but I also think it can get a bit grody over time, so I'm subtracting a star. Otherwise, I'm on my third jar in a year. (Sometimes I pig out and use it on my hands and body, too. )

  • Benefit Benetint

    Benefit Benetint

    Bene, bene!

Great, natural color; sweet rose scent; and seems to work extra well on older skin: melts in with none of the crevice-creeping of sticks or powders. Plus, it doesn't change color on my changeable skin. I love everything about it except the stain on my finger tips from rubbing it in,but that seems to wash out well if you're quick.

  • Eucerin Gentle Hydrating Cleanser

Unlike the other reviewers, I love this cleanser, which is gentle and hydrating-but-not-breakout-producing on my combination skin. It's truly fragrance-free, too, and a little goes a long way, making it economical. But I think I'm in the minority, since I can never find it on the shelves anymore--not sold out, just...gone. So, sadly, I guess I'll have to find a new grial, unless others reading this review get as hooked on it as I've been for the past couple of years.

  • MOP Basil Mint Conditioner
    1.0

    MOP Basil Mint Conditioner

    Smells Good Enought to Eat....

....and too bad I can't, because it sure went to waste on my hair. It's a very lightweight conditioner, which did nothing for my fine-but-dry hair. It left me dull and frizzy, and sadly didn't work as an in-shower moisturizer, either ( a secret use for conditioner). Maybe it would work for someone with oilier hair that wanted a light conditioner. I so wanted to love this, and have the clean, hip bottle sitting in my shower, but relegated it to the guest room. Hope my guests like it more than I did.
