    Lush Lip Scrub

    Delicious and Effective!

Sure this is an over priced home remedy, but the yummy taste and effective exfoliants are worth the splurge. I love wearing red lipstick, but I don't like crumbly flakes that are highlighted with a bold color. Just a little exfoliating (and licking the scrub off) and I get a smooth canvas perfect for a seductive pout. Even my kids love this product. They get horribly scaly lips in the winter. A little bubblegum lipscrub and I have three kids lining up for an exfoliating treat with nary a complaint! A total splurge, but a decadent and yummy treat!

    Lush Hair Hennas

Pretty, but a pain in the rear

I used the caca marron on my sister-in-law who has dark brown and chestnut colored hair. The marron of the henna brought out and added beautiful red highlights and resulted in a multi-faceted highlighted appearance. In effect, my sis-in-law looked beautiful after the messy, stinky, and complicated process was over. I have never used other henna dyes, so I can't compare its effectiveness to cheaper alternatives, but my relative was happy with the results and the dollar amount she paid for them. The process, however, was less than spectacular and a huge pain. The dye was a bit clumpy (next time we are adding more water) but it was the consistency of brownie batter, the recommended thickness Lush suggests on their website and instruction packet. The 'brownie batter', however, created lumps that rolled off my inlaws head, resulting in a huge clumpy mess on the floor. I was constantly picking up clumps of dung-looking (which makes sense, given that it is made out of dung) material off the floor and shoving it back on her head. The smell was awful and stank up the entire upper floor of my house, causing my children to complain, and the dye stains floors and skin, so be careful and follow the directions--use gloves and cover floors with newspaper! Despite these faults, my sis-in-law said she would defintiely do it again as the red highlights were so spectacular.

  • Lush American Cream

    Lush American Cream

    More like American Dream

I can't get over the change my hair has undergone since using this product. My thick and textured waves are now smooth and defined and smell darn near delicious. I am exceptionally picky on my hair products, trying scores of both high end and drug store shampoos and conditioners and I have to say that this product totally delivers. It detangles my very long locks and leaves them light and shiny. My waves actually bounce instead of frizz. And I can't stop smelling my hair. Everytime it passes in front of my nose I smile. The only reason I didn't give American Cream a 10 is because of the high sticker price. But alas, I still shell out the cash everytime my bottle empties. I don't know what I would do if Lush discontinued this product! Amazing!

    Lush I Love Juicy

    Sunshine in a bottle

This little ray of sunshine sweet and juicy shampoo leaves my thick and wavy hair soft and shiny. The only reason I didn't give this product a 10 is because the price is high and more than I like paying. Never the less, I still shell out the dough for a bottle of this nautral product whenever I run out. I use ILJ twice a week and look forward to it every time. My husband loves the way this shampoo smells, and I can't get over the way my waves bounce. With a dab of Lush's R&B on my locks, my waves are defined and frizz free. While high in price, ILJ is worth every penny!

    Urban Decay Naked Palette

    Worth Every Penny

Urban Decay totally delivers with this amazing palette! Rich colors, great payoff, and a variety of shades for everyday use. I haven't found a color I didn't like or that didn't look flattering on my fair skin. I waited a year to purchase this palette, thinking it wasn't worth the hype or the amount of money it costs, but I wasn't disappointed when I finally caved. The soft formula of the shadows is forgiving and blendable, and extremely pigmented. The package is easy to carry and is great for travel. The brush is soft, the handle sturdy, and the primer potion perfect! Will definitely purchase the second palette as well!

  • Aveeno Positively Radiant Tinted Moisturizer SPF 30

I love this stuff. Not only does it moisturize, it also gives me sun protection (with an awesome SPF) and light coverage on busy mornings. I have been using this moisturizer for almost a year, and still have product left in the bottle! I have very oily skin, and never have I felt that this lotion made my skin worse. In fact, I think it has aided in the clarification of my acne-prone skin. I have no aversions to the smell (which I have a hard time noticing), and enjoy the coverage and protection this product offers. I no longer wear foundation (though I do use a little concealer should a problem arise) and I set this powder. The SPF was strong enough to protect my fair skin from the Florida sun during our last vacay to Orlando. AMAZING product! Will continue to purchase!

  • Hard Candy Walk the Line Eye Liner

I bought this liner in 'flip side', a dark navy blue. I've never been more disappointed with a porduct. Not only was it thin, runny, and unpigmented, the applicator was hard to control, and it created a messy streak across my eyelid. The liner took FOREVER to dry and was not worth the time it took to apply. This liner wound up in the trash the same night I bought it. Will NOT be buying this again.

  • Urban Decay De-Slick Oil Control Makeup Setting Spray

This little gem of a product is a total livesaver! With oily, acne-prone skin, my face is a shiny mess two hours (if I'm lucky) after applying makeup. I picked up the sample size of this product hoping for a miracle and one was granted! This stuff is amazing! For the first time in forever, my face looks great 9 hours after applying my makeup! I can hardly believe how well this stuff works! Sure, there is a shine 9 hours later, but a natural one, and not the oil slick that was there before. I will definitely be purchasing the full size of this spray. It is well worth the $ spent!

  • Essie Nail Polish

    Essie Nail Polish

    Not Worth the Hype

I truly don't understand the hype behind this product. After reading the reviews and seeing an ad for Essie's colors in nearly every one of my magazines, I succombed to the marketing powers that be, and shelled out the $8 (which I don't mind spending on OPI) for my first bottle of Essie. I was sooooo disappointed. The color was cute and pigmented in the bottle, but went on my nails like a cheap little girl's nail polish. The formula was thin and runny, and I had to put three coats of color on before I deemed it close to what was actually inside the bottle. I hated it--BUT I thought maybe I had purchased a bad bottle. It couldn't be the formula--especially after everyone's rave reviews, right? WRONG. My second bottle was just as bad as the first. And yes, I shook the blasted bottle and did everything I do with my OPI and drugstore brands, but I have to say that Essie didn't live up to its hype at all. I prefer Sally Hansen over Essie any day.

  • Clean & Clear Persa-Gel 10 Acne Medication

Bottom line: It works. What you need to know: The bad: -It stains the towels, jeans, or whatever you wipe your fingers on if you don't wash your hands of the stuff first. It will also stain your pillow/sheets. -It streaks. This is why I only use this stuff at night. If you don't rub it in right, this will leave a white chalky streak across your face, and NO ONE wants to see that. -It can be drying. But that is one of the amazing reasons that it works. I use it once a day and have had no flaking or redness. The Good: -I have adult acne. My dermatologist was one appt away from placing me on a Accutane like drug. Persa-gel, combined with C&C Continual Acne Control Benzol Peroxide Wash, Ziana, and moisturizer, saved my face, and my self-esteem. I went from deep cysts and constant breakouts to clear and smooth skin. This stuff is AMAZING. I'm afraid to live with out it.
