    E.L.F. Shielding Hydro-Tint

Some bad ingredients, but smells nice & performs well. Great for travel!

I’m a fan of all things Tinted Moisturizer. And for $1.00, I splurged and purchased a tube. Pros: * SPF 15 and color coverage in one product. * Perfect size for travel. The tube is surprisingly tiny, but for only a dollar… * Easy to blend and contains Kaolin clay which is healthy for your skin. * Staying power is incredible for a makeup this affordable. * Buildable coverage worked well for me in my under eye circles and other splotches. * Pleasant, light citrus fragrance that smells fresh. * Not tested on animals. Cons: * Only available in 3 tones/shades (I chose Tone 2 which worked well for my medium skin with yellow/olive undertones). * Packaging size is small, but really is perfect for airplane travel regulations these days. * May be too moisturizing for those with oily skin. * This product is certainly not organic and contains parabens, phosphates, and much more.

  • Lancome Color Design Artist Palette

    Lancome Color Design Artist Palette

    Nice application, smooth, long-wearing

This eyeshadow palette from Lancome really packs a punch. The range of warm colors (this is the Couture Warms collection) are saturated and cover a range of wearable colors. The shadows wear *incredibly* well- no creasing or smudging and very little fall-out, even with the intense shades! The case is great too. Shiny black patent type with padding and a magnetic closure. It feels high-class and I like the padding for travel or carrying along in your purse. * Strut is a gorgeous deep green perfect for brown or hazel eyes, it’s one of Lancome’s “intense” shades. * Couture is matte berry brown great for contouring or lining eyes. Also an “intense” shade. * Designer works well with Strut as it is an olive (think camo or khaki) green with metallic shimmer. * Model is very unique copper shimmer. I love, love this shadow!! * Pose is a golden copper metallic. This shadow goes on strong or light depending on your brush. Love it alone or blended for an entire look. * Vue is my second favorite in the palette. It’s a pink toned neutral shadow with slight shimmer. It’s a perfect base for a “no-makeup” look or as a primer under your other shadows. * Positive is a matte cream. Beautiful under the brow as a highlighter and in the corners of eyes (by your nose bridge) to brighten. * Daylight is an absolute matte white. I really like using this for a brow bone highlighter. You can choose from the Couture Warms (which I reviewed), Stylish Neutrals (browns and mauves), or Best Dressed Cools (range of blues and grays).

  • E.L.F. Tone Correcting Concealer

This teeny tube of concealer is my new favorite. My under eye circles have finally met their match! e.l.f.'s Tone Correcting face Concealer E.l.f’s products are hit and miss with me. I like their Tinted Moisturizer, love their cream shadow duos, am blaise about the Shimmering Facial Whip, but their concealer is perfect for me. It comes packaged in a tube with a soft-tipped wand applicator (like many lip glosses). I appreciate the tube being clear as it makes it easy to judge how much product remains. Application was easy. I tried putting it underneath my standard face makeup (apply, then let it set for a minute or two) and also on top of my makeup/tinted moisturizer and both worked equally well. If you are using this with a powdered mineral makeup, be sure to apply the concealer first. (A liquid overtop of a powder product creates horrendous clumping action.) All day wear, no running and no creasing, and it covered so beautifully! I can’t really ask for more than that. The only drawbacks I experienced: 1) The cap on mine separated from the swab applicator, so I have to remove the cap, and then unscrew the applicator wand and 2) the product tends to separate a little in the tube, but a few quick shakes remedies this situation.

  • Jergens Natural Glow 3 Days to Glow Body Moisturizer

In February, Walmart offered free samples of Jergen’s Natural Glow Express sunless tanner. After a few weeks of sitting, I had the chance to give this a try. I have to mention this was one of the nicest sized samples. It was a large packet with a full half ounce of product. The lotion was rich and super creamy- very moisturizing and smelled wonderful! It actually seemed more like a body butter than a lotion; however it still sunk in relatively quick. But it did not seem to color my skin, even after 4-5 days worth of use. For this reason, it would be great for sunless tanner beginners, but if you are looking for more color, I would not recommend this product. It, however, is a fantastic lotion and if used daily as your sole moisturizer would probably build up a bit of color on your skin.

  • Maybelline New York Superstay Silky Foundation
    8.0

Maybelline New York Superstay Silky Foundation

    Nice application, smooth, long-wearing

SuperStay Silky is available in 12 shades (5 for light skin, 4 for medium skin, and 3 for dark skin). The makeup applied exceptionally smoothly! You blend a lotion-like substance with the colored foundation and then swish them all around your face to blend. The makeup seemed to melt into the face and really *did* leave your skin SILKY! The color melded nicely and provided a transfer-free medium coverage while not making your face feel “clogged”. Another wonderful result- the makeup really did last all day! Through wind, humidity and even a bit of rain. Incredible!

  • Maybelline New York Great Lash Washable Mascara
    1.0

Maybelline New York Great Lash Washable Mascara

Horrendous and contains chemicals known to cause reactions

The Maybelline Great Lash caused an eye reaction on my second day using it. Needless to say, I had to chuck it. Sad, since I loved this mascara growing up. The mascara flakes, smudges, doesn't pick up your lashes. I really don't understand why people won't break out of the mold and try something new. Ick.

  • Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Talc-Free Mineral Mascara

The Physician’s Formula Mineral Wear Mascara is now my favorite. It makes my lashes super long, it’s very affordable, easy to find, doesn’t clump/flake/smudge or otherwise ruin my eye look. There’s no stinging fumes in my eyes and the packaging is sleek and understated. However, the brush does take some getting used to. But now, I have a hard time figuring out how I got mascara on my lashes before this unique brush- it finds EVERY single little lash!
