5 blades and a squishy handle
I've been a fan of the Gillette Venus razors for a long time. In all of their many forms, they were are great razors that never led me astray. The latest one, the Venus Embrace has 5 blades instead of 3 and a much bigger head. I like all the moisture strips because it means that if I'm in a hurry and I just need a quick touch-up leg shaving job, I don't even need to use shaving cream. The replacement heads are a bit more pricey, but the shave is closer and the comfort increased. I like the squishy handle and space-age like shower holder. It comes with suctions, instead of a sticky strip, which I much prefer since it makes moving it from shower to shower easier.

Caress Evenly Gorgeous Exfoliating Body Wash is just not my cup of tea. It smells like sickly sweet sugar syrup. I personally don't want to smell like dessert in the shower. I prefer to eat my desserts, not bath in them. But I am sure my girlfriends who loves vanilla perfumes would like this body wash and body bar, which is while I will be gifting it to them shortly. I'll stick to my fruity, citrus scented body washes, thank you.

Rough and Messy with Decent Color
While I love new ways of putting on eyeliner, I'm not sure L'Oreal did such a great job on this one. Their latest edition to the HIP High Intensity Pigment Collection leaves much to be desired. I like the concept of loose kohl eyeliner, but this one is way too messy. The wand is a bit on the rough side and I ended up getting powder all over. I thought the strength of the pigment was decent, but the messy factor was a bit of an issue for me. I liked the golden color for inner-eye highlighting, but the rough brush isn't very pleasant on the delicate skin. Next!

L'Oreal's HIP high intensity pigments collections has been out in drugstores for quite awhile. I've tried some of there eyeshadows and been mildly impressed. But the Color Presso lip glosses are really cool. First of all, I've never seen any gloss container like these, they are very innovative. The idea of have two shades you can mix together or wear alone isn't brand new, but the shape and style of the case is certainly unique. I guess the loop at the top means you can put it on your key chain... though I don't think I'll be doing that. The gloss itself is not sticky at all and quite moisturizing. They have a nice shimmer to them as well and come in a variety of shades that, combined or not,m are bound to please everyone. The have a subtle taste of cupcakes, but its not sickly sweet like some. All in all a great addition to L'Oreal's fun, colorful HIP line of products

Ok. I'll be the first to admit it. I am not a lover of lipstick. But if I was... I'd want one that actually lasts. No one likes re-applying lipstick or living in constant fear that all that is left is a ring around the outside of your lips. Yuck. Can you tell I was scarred from seeing this happen to my mother?! Well, Max Factor's new Vivid Impact Lipcolor definitely lasts. And lasts. And lasts. I tried on the hot pink color I got one evening, then promptly laid around blogging and the like until I went to bed. The next morning I went to look in the mirror and... I still had a very pink pout! If hot party pink isn't your thing, it does come in many other colors, including 4 reds, 5 beige/browns, 3 mauves, 4 wine/burgundies, and yes 4 pinks! One is sure to please your lips, even if you don't like lipstick!

a little pump
Max Factor's new attempt, the 2000 Calorie Extreme Lash Plumper, fulfills certain demands I have for my mascara. I really like the big fat brush (hence the high caloric name) with its many plastic bristles. It gets to every lash, and curls them up quite nicely. It doesn't make them exceptionally thick, but the additional darkness and definition are great. It is a good daytime mascara but I think I want more volume when I am doing darker evening looks. Also, I had a chance to try both the regular and waterproof formulas. Although I am not a huge fan of waterproof mascara, because they are so hard to remove. But I'll make an exception since it actually it lasted all though my work day and the gym in 90 degree heat without me looking like a raccoon by the end of it. That is lasting power! So for $9.98 at your local drugstore, you can get a high quality mascara that will plump your lashes and last though a sweaty workout!

Pamper Yourself With Oxygen
This at-home treatment is inspired by Bliss Spa's popular oxygen facial. In about 5 minutes, you get a quality treatment for a lot less than you would pay in one of their spas. The directions are to squirt out a decent amount (no need to skimp, the bottle is pretty big) and apply it to your damp, clean face. As you rub it in, the citrus-smelling gel turns into a thick foam. It gets as thick as shaving cream! Then you let it sit on your face for about 5 minutes, no need for any longer. The result is a brighten, more awake look and feel to your skin. Mine feels softer and very clean, without feeling dry or tight at all. For $52, it is an expensive treatment, but it beats pay and spending the time in the spa for the same effect. Use it as a way to paper yourself after a long work day. The smell is glorious and the sensation very calming.

An ok powder with minimal coverage
The other day I literally had 5 minutes to run into Sephora and get a foundation powder to replace my Laura Mercier Mineral powder that had run out. Unfortunately the Sephora store in downtown San Francisco doesn't carry Laura Mercier so I was forced to look elsewhere. I've been meaning to try out some more of Make Up For Ever's products so after running around the store, I headed straight to their display and saw their Super Matte Loose Powder. Quick as a flash, I grabbed up what I thought would be a good match for my skin and hurried to the checkout. Well, I've been using the powder for a week now and I have mixed feelings. It is very matte, which I like, but the coverage is minimal and isn't nearly as build able as the Laura Mercier. Reading the description on at Sephora online, I now know it is meant more as a setting powder than a foundation by itself. Guess its not always a good idea to grab and go when it comes to makeup. I also think I went a little too light with #14, especially for summer. I've been wearing SPF 30 everyday like a good girl but my skin seems a little tanner than it did a few months ago. Oh well, better luck next time. I think I'll have to head over to the other SF Sephora and pick up the LM powder I love so much. I can use the MUFE as a setting powder, or as a lighter foundation once my skin clears up some more.

I am IN LOVE!
I am absolutely in love with my new Tendertones Lip Balm in Sweet Tooth. It looks lovely and lighty shiny pink on, actually keeps my lips moisturized, and even has sunscreen in it! I also enjoy the yummy flavor. It's supposed to be a strawberry-kiwi flavor but I think it's more like watermelon. The glass pot it comes in is a bit heavy, but I think it is such a nice looking pot, I'll let it slide. Try one out yourself before they all sell out, 'cause they will!

A great acne fighting product
I apply this lightweight treatment after I wash my face. It contains both Glycolic and Salicylic Acid, so it really works to exfoliate the dead skin on my face (the AHA, glycolic) and clean out my pores (the BHA, salicylic). It dissolves very quickly and doesn't leave my face feeling sticky. I've been using it for about 2 weeks now and my breakouts have significantly decreased. The price might be steep but if it cures my acne, I'll glad dole it out!
