Very sheer, shimmery, best for highlighting
This Fall, Maybelline New York released four new eyeshadow quads in their Luminous Lights edition, all the quads include light, sheer, shimmer shadows designed to illuminate the eyes and your makeup look. I first saw the advertisement in a magazine and the model is wearing the Opal Lights quad, so when I spotted these at my local Walmart, I picked up the same quad from the ad. The ad makes the quad look pretty colorful, just my style. 1. base: sheer baby pink shimmer 2. lid: sheer light chartreuse shimmer 3. crease: opal blue shimmer 4. liner: copper shimmer The shadows swatch with some light color and heavy shimmer, the colors are definitely beautiful. BUT, when you wear the shadows as the palette instructs, they all pretty much look the same - all you see are some bits of shimmer. So, as for an eyeshadow quad to make a look with, I would not recommend this - as a palette of highlight shades to compliment makeup looks, I would highly recommend it! Think about all the eyeshadow palettes you see or buy or use, they all come with 1-2 highlight shades, and they are usually some type or white or cream. I have been LOVING the Opal Lights quad as my go-to highlighting palette, it has a permanent home in my collection. I'm actually thinking about getting their other three palettes because I'm really loving the idea of a tinted highlight to compliment my looks. Another fun use for these quads, dab a little shimmer on the center of your lid on top of a smokey eye and it really makes the look pop and glow!

A while back I won a full size set of the Clear Scalp & Hair Therapy Ultra Shea shampoo and conditioner from Body & Soul. I have been using it regularly ever since and I have some mixed feeling on the set. I love the scent, the heavier consistency of the formulas, the soft and lush feel it gives my hair and the hydration I get from the set is great - my first day hair is so healthy-looking! What I don't like about this set, I can not comfortably wear second day hair. It makes my scalp feel itchy, dry and flaky by the second day, which is so mind boggling since my first day hair is like tv-commercial-hair! ugh, I am going through a horrible hair trial trying to find new shampoos and conditioners since my go-to's are no longer on this planet (apparently).

LOVE! Smooth, Pigmented, Longlasting and Gorgeous!
Youngblood's pink blush special from October may be over, but their Crushed Mineral Blushes are still a must-try if you are a blush-aholic and/or a mineral fan. Normally I don't care for mineral blushes because they are crazy pigmented and require special attention when applying and blending out. These Youngblood mineral blushes are fairly pigmented, which I highly appreciate. I can just dip in, tap a bit then apply and blend like I would with a pressed blush. Sherbet "gold-laced pink-peach" is quite pigmented and gives a very feminine, pretty flush to the skin tone. Tulip "sheer baby doll pink" is a very light shade with a gorgeous luminous effect. Did You Know? You can use these loose mineral blushes as eyeshadow pigments, lip colors (just mix in with your favorite lip balm/gloss) and even create your own custom nail polish (just mix in with a clear polish)!

Just as good as the older version!
I actually own, repurchase and LOVE the previous version of the Secret Outlast Clear Gel deodorant. The new Outlast version is exactly the same, just in new packaging. These deodorants really do last all day, the gel dries clear and never transfers to my clothes. During the Summer I'll experience some sweating after a few hours, but the scent lasts through to night, in which I'll reapply if I'm going out. During the colder months, this really lasts forever and the scent doesn't fade. I love this deodorant and I'll continue to love it for years!

Great sheen but the formula is harsh
I got a sample of Neutrogena Visibly Bright Daily Facial Cleanser in my Target Spring Beauty Bag back in March. I have a bad history with Neutrogena skin care products, they dry out my skin, break me out and they "burn" my skin turning it red, splotchy and oh-so-itchy! Well, since this facial wash says it's a daily cleanser, I assumed it would be safe for my skin (even though their "gentle" products attack my skin as well) so I decided to try it out and see if it "visibly brightens" my skin. The scent is so fresh and delightful, reminds me of pink grapefruit scented products from Bath and Body Works. The cleanser has a beautiful sheen to it, which I'm thinking is what makes the skin visibly brighter. This cleanser decently cleaned my skin, I preferred to use it with my Clarisonic Mia2 though, it didn't leave my skin tight or dried out afterwards. Right after washing with this cleanser, my skin looked brighter, younger and happier - but it didn't last very long. When I applied my facial lotion and sun protector that bright and youthful sheen disappeared. If you have Neutrogena-friendly skin this would be a great product to try. I really wish it didn't attack my skin because I love it's brightening effect, even if it short lived, it makes me feel good when I look in the mirror.

Good, but didn't last long.
At first I really liked this hand creme, but as I went to use it one night - it smelt horrible and left my hands feeling greasy all night! I had to wash my hands 3 times to get the greasiness off and the nasty oil scent. I used to use this cream on my knuckles and elbows, and you only need a smidgen because it spreads out and goes a long way. I finished one sample jar and began to use the second one, but I guess they expire quicker than your normal hand creme would. I would say - if you need daily heavy creme to hydrate your dryness, this is perfect for you. Burt's Bees is known for their organic ingredients, sulfate free, paraben free, and phthalate free products. This product is great, but keep in mind it will expire and when it does it's not a pretty product.

BEST inexpensive polishes!
I own every shade because I'm obsessed with ELF polishes! They've recently reformulated and bumped the price up from $1 to $2, but I'm not complaining. They are pigmented, apply smoothly, no bubbles, minimal streaking, some shades are opaque in one coat, they last up to a week with base/top coats, they have a variety of nude-dark shades and I love the brush with a more squared tip.

Great nail-care must have!
For only a dollar, this nail block is much better than the ones I used to get at the random beauty supply stores. It's very gentle and it doesn't strip down your nail's natural defenses. It smooths and files easily and it's the only nail block/buffer I've used that doesn't make my nails peel.

Great for the price! Fun to collect :)
I used to have a lot of these, I ended up giving them away or selling the unused ones because I own too much makeup right now. BUT, I do love these and I recommend them to everyone. Some of the shades are hit/miss, most of the medium/darker shades are super pigmented and easily dupe-able to MAC eyeshadows. I always buy one or two to include in little gift bags and giveaways.
