Tired of the rather uninspiring, bordering-on-dangerous shave of my cheapy pink disposable, I gave the Embrace a whirl and was truly delighted with my latest investment. According to the packaging, the five curve-hugging blades are positioned closely together and spring-mounted to create a shaving surface that adjusts to the natural contours and curves of a woman's body, allowing the blade cartridge to sit flatter on the skin for a closer shave. Check! My legs were definitely smoother. Also, a protective moisture ribbon surrounds the shaving surface for a smooth glide. Check! No nicks. Hallelujah. The soft grip handle is another bonus in that it rides in the hand comfortably and improves control, even once it gets wet. The full shaving system comes with a ShowerPod with suction cup attachments for convenient razor and blade storage. Shave-tastic (sorry, couldn't help myself)!

It's a winner for good reason
This product has racked up the awards for good reason: It removes makeup and daily ick and it doesn't dry out your skin. I alternate this with an anti-acne wash and couldn't live without it.

Go lightly for a light girly scent
At first spritz, you can't ignore the perfume's flirty, free-spirited berry and floral undertones but after the fragrance sets, the sandalwood comes into play for a hint of older sophistication. When applying, remember that a little goes a long way because the perfume is highly fragrant and too much will leave you over-doused in a cloud of sugary berry. Don't over douse or you will be sorry!

Great for corner and bottom lashes
The Telescopic Explosion sphere gets into both upper and lower corners and discovers even the tiniest lashes I never knew were there. Plus it covers right up to the lash line without creating a goopy black mess and defines and separates for a thicker-looking lash line. Because it only covers a specific area at a time, which can make application tedious and more time consuming compared to a few quick swipes with a normal brush, I lightly coat eyelashes with regular mascara then dab the Telescopic Explosion ball in the corners of eyes over minuscule baby lashes that vertical brush can't reach. Good stuff.

And after enduring streaks, splotches and orange faces (how embarrassing!), L'Oreal Paris Sublime Bronze has won out as my go-to for the best all-around natural-looking, foolproof color. And now they've introduced a new formula that ups the instant gratification benefits. L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Luminous Bronzer Self Tanning Lotion gives you an immediate hint of color while building a deeper golden tan that lasts up to 3 to 5 days depending on how much you exfoliate your skin. The chocolate-colored formula contains light-reflecting golden flecks that give your skin an instant shimmery, bronze look. It's lightweight enough that you have time to rub it in thoroughly yet it absorbs quickly and you can get dressed in a jiff. The gold shimmer rubs off slightly on your clothes but being that it's the dead of summer, a little sparkle never hurt anyone and the actual bronzer doesn't come off at all. While we liked the scent of the original formula, this new one is laced with happy hints of pineapple and cantaloupe. You can't beat that the lotion is also dosed with vitamin E that hydrates and protects your skin while you tan. Use a couple times a week to keep your tan fresh.

Seems as if the product development team at LOreal Paris never sleeps, huh? This time, they've come to the rescue of our practical sides with this double-duty eye cream that keeps you protected during the day and repairs at night. The new LOreal Revitalift Deep-Set Wrinkle Repair 24 Hour Eye Repair Duo is an around-the-clock eye cream with a targeted daytime lotion on one end and a rich night treatment on the other. The AM treatment is a light, moisturizing formula with SPF 15. The subtly scented lotion absorbs quickly with just a tiny dollop and keeps the sensitive eye area protected against sun damage. The good news, at least for me anyway, was that while I haven't had much luck in the past with sunscreens around my eyes, I had no redness or irritation with this daytime formula. Slightly thicker and with just a hint of scent, you dab the PM treatment around your eyes after cleansing at night to repair and hydrate while you sleep. Both feature the patented Revitalift technologies that work to diminish the appearance of crow's feet and under-eye creping including Pro-Retinol A and a Fiber Restoring Complex. The nighttime formula did its job to plump the laugh lines around my eyes and I felt good about finally having a sunscreen to protect my smile lines from furrowing deeper into my skin during the day. Each side is .2 ounces and the price hovers just under $20. So it's not a bad investment given that eye creams can get pretty pricey.

Love Fake Bake and this new addition to their line-up is excellent. The formula literally looks like whipped chocolate mousse. It soaks in quickly so use self-tanning application gloves if you have them. The formula has a fresh, pleasant scent that dissipates as it dries leaving a barely detectable hint of the chemical in all self-tanners. But here's the one caveat about this product: Apply the Fake Bake self-tanner at night and rinse it off in the shower the next morning. The temporary color that helps you apply the product evenly is not water resistant so if you do have an encounter with water (I decided it was the perfect time to hose down the back porch. Duh. Not) you'll end up looking like a giraffe. It doesn't wash off the self-tanner, just the bronzer. Or, you can buff of the bronzer with a towel after it thoroughly dries. I found the resulting color natural and pretty, not orange.

A stand-out product for healthy ends!
If you have an aversion to scissors like me, this product is a must. It helps me go longer in between hair cuts and it doesn't have a hippie dippy smell like some natural products. The entire Essential Repair line is excellent but this is my favorite product of the bunch. They're a little on pricey end but are more concentrated so you use less. Plus they don't have sulfates so no worries about suds stripping your color.

Good for a weekly glow!
I use this once week or so when my skin starts to get lackluster from dead skin build-up and love it. The grains are small enough so that it feels very similar to a gentle microderm. The smell is nothing to write home about but sometimes lack of a foofy smell means one less additive for your skin to absorb. Good stuff!

Savor this Shaver
When you want a really close shave, a rock-star close shave, a shave so close that your skin glistens, you have to slow down and take your time. That's where this little wonder comes in. Slather on the Whish shave cream and use this brush to work the product into the follicles. You'll see the difference from your daily whiz-bang shave job. Although they're cute, I would forgo the crystal encrusted version and go with this basic model. It's still a treat and because it's more functional, you might just slow down and enjoy a good shave now and again.
