    Dove Ultimate Beauty Care Deodorant

Ultimately, not clear, but still good

Alright, so this claims to be a different kind of formula that doesn't leave white marks. It doesn't live up to that claim at all. But, I do like it, it's moisturizing and soothing on razor burn. I don't sweat much at all, I find it does a good job of controlling perspriration. I also really like the scents, they're soft and not too strong, I really like Smooth Cashmere and Cool Essentials.

  • Proactiv Revitalizing Toner

    Proactiv Revitalizing Toner

Soothing, effective, but a little overpriced

So as part of the system this toner is my favorite part. It's soothing, mildly moisturizing and effective in controlling excess oil and unclogging pores. My only complaint is that the Proactiv system is incredibly overpriced for the products you get (not to mention hard to get) because the ingredients are pretty basic. I generally buy the store brand system at Meijer (if you're near one) which is the same ingredients and products and just as effective but about a quarter of the price.

  • Proactiv Renewing Cleanser
    7.0

    Proactiv Renewing Cleanser

    It works well but...

Alright, so I've tried Proactiv when I was in high school, it worked well then, but was somewhat of a hassle to get (stupid mail system, which has a lot of hidden issues!) so I stopped using it and started using Clinique's acne system which is a fantastic system! But...Clinique is getting super expensive for me to use, not to mention my skin has changed and consequently the type of acne I get has changed as well, so I decided to try it again. There are a lot of people that feel strongly either way about this system, as for me I'm satisfied, it's cleared up and controlled the new breakouts I had. The cleanser is your basic benzoyl peroxide cleanser with tiny exfoliating beads. Benzoyl peroxide has been a more effective treatment for the new acne I've gotten which is mainly on my chin area. It can be a little drying, so make sure to use a good moisturizer, but this cleanser is really effective. Do not use an additional exfoliator as it would be way to harsh. But overall I really like this cleanser in conjunction with the other parts of the system. It's a lot easier to get at a kiosk in the mall, or my personal favorite if you live near a Meijer, by the store brand Proactiv system there, just as good, soooooo much cheaper! The reason I give it a 7 is because it's hard to get and is overpriced for the product which is pretty basic.

  • Alberto VO5 Extreme Style Curvaceous Curls Styling Mousse

Alberto VO5 Extreme Style Curvaceous Curls Styling Mousse

Great product for definiton, only one major complaint

My sister bought this mousse and left it behind when she left and so I started trying it when I didn't have any curl products on hand. The first time I used it, I wasn't crazy about it, it defined my curly hair well, but was so crunchy! I tried it a few more times and like it more now. I agree with another reviewer when she said that blow-drying your hair eliminates the crunch, but for me the frizz was still really well controlled. You don't have to use much of the mousse, the more you use the more likely it is to make your hair crunchy, but a golf ball size works for my hair (reaches the middle of my back and is very fine). I also don't need to dry my hair completely to stop the crunchy hair, just about half way. I give the product an 8 because of the crunchiness, and because I generally prefer to not dry my hair at all, but it is worth it if you really need definition!!

  • Nars Blush

    Nars Blush

"Orgas m" is a great color, great basic blush otherwise

So the blush itself isn't like it's that much greater than other good blush formulas (although this one is pretty good), but the color selection and the cult favorite "orgas m" is great. The actual blush is a nice sheer powder that is build-able, it lasts for a good amount of time as well. "Orgas m" is a nice pinkish color with golden shimmer that is neither pink, nor peach somewhere right in the middle making it good for a lot of different skin tones. And this color looks really fantastic on top of a tan! (or combine it with some bronzer if you're pale like me). The compact lasts for a long time, so it's worth the price tag. Another thing I like about the compact is that it comes with an actual usable mirror, so if you're out and need to apply, you can actually do so.

  • Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler

    Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler

    Yay for this curler

This is definitely a quality eyelash curler. I've never really used an eyelash curler because I had only ever tried cheaper ones which left my eyelashes weirdly crimped in a sort of 90 degree angle, not curled; so I didn't buy any other curlers for years. I got this about 6 months ago, and now it's a must have, I can't believe I went that long without curling my eyelashes! The rubber pad on this curler is much higher quality and design than cheaper versions, so it doesn't leave eyelashes crimped. The only thing I don't like, like another reviewer said, you only get one replacement pad in the package when you buy the curler, and replacement pads aren't sold separately, so you have to buy another curler about every 6 months. But 38 dollars a year is definitely worth it!

  • Lancome Definicils High Definition Mascara

This is literally the only mascara I will use, I've thought about trying something else a little less expensive but can't bring myself to do this because this mascara is so perfect! It makes my lashes so long, they touch my eyebrows. It separates lashes so well! I can add layer upon layer without it clumping up. My preferred way of applying it is to apply several layers without letting the mascara dry, I just keep running the brush through my lashes until I get my desired level. It doesn't flake or dry out my lashes and is relatively easy to remove at night. It's the best mascara ever!

  • Bath & Body Works Signature Collection Hand Cream Black Amethyst

I have these hand creams, I don't have this scent, but have four of the others. These creams are fantastic, they work very well! I wash my hands very often and these creams have kept my hands softer than normal. They may seem a little greasy at first, but if you work them in and give them a minute to absorb, they're not greasy at all, and you'll be glad you used it. There are some great scent collections from Bath and Body, I like Velvet Tuberose, Sensual Amber and Moonlight Path the most.

  • Victoria's Secret Secret Garden Collection Hydrating Body Lotion

I don't often buy these lotions, as their not super cost effective for being a basic body lotion. But when I get them as gifts or as gift with purchase or something of the sort, I do enjoy using them. The scents are pretty appealing, I actually like a majority of the scents. Their not too strong, but you can definitely smell them when you wear them. The lotion itself is pretty basic, but does a good job of moisturizing. I have pretty sensitive skin but don't have any problems with them, except for after shaving, but that happens with nearly every product. Overall their nice lotions, but not one I'd buy all the time, just given the fact that I don't want to spend that much money on the bottle.

  • Bumble and bumble Straight

I love Bumble and Bumble products, they work so well, and this one is no exception. I can get my hair pretty straight, but this product makes my hair last much longer and protects from any humidity. The product is thick, you really need only a VERY small amount. I have hair to the middle of my back and only need to use a dime size of the product, very small squirt. The great thing about that is that the tube will last for quite some time! And if you use a large round brush to blow dry it really does straighten your hair without a flat iron, and I have very curly hair (naturally, of course), the only thing I ever use a flat iron for anymore is to polish my ends. Great product, worth the money!
