Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer Light

    Prefer this over Philosophy Primer

I like this stuff a lot. Probably my favorite thing about it is the silky smooth canvas it creates. It doesn't clog your pores and coming from someone with mild to moderate adult acne, extremely oil skin and blackheads to boot, it does help with oil control and keeping makeup on, but as with anything, it doesn't last all day. My skin eventually becomes oily once again and I have to break out the oil absorbing sheets. As I mentioned in my headline, I do prefer this to Philisophy's primer. I think overall it does a better job and Philosophy's doesn't create the same smooth canvas as Smashbox. I'm giving it an 8 simply because it doesn't provide the matte canvas all day long as the description claims.

  • Lancome Definicils High Definition Mascara

Sure, it's more expensive, but as the totalbeauty review says, it wins awards all the time for a reason. I have naturally long eyelashes, but when I use this stuff it's crazy! It lenghtens, seperates, doesn't clump; run; or smudge. My only negative, and this is probably just me, but I wish it would add a little more thickness while it adds length. Everyone wants to have long eye lashes, but who wouldn't want to have thick, long eyelashes?

  • Lancome Definicils Pro Mascara
    10.0

    Lancome Definicils Pro Mascara

Prefer to Pro Version to Regular

I love this stuff and prefer the Pro version to the regular simply because I find that using the curved brush helps give me the application I'm looking for, which is a fuller, longer lash that's curled with my Shu Uemura eyelash curler. It doesn't flake, run, or smudge. I think the price is worth it as well. I've also tried many of the drug store brands and the L'Oreal mascara ins the straigh dark blue and silver tube is good, as well as the new one by Cover Girl in the think orange tube and weird orange brush. The cover girl mascara isn't as easy to get off however.

  • Biolage Smooththerapie Smoothing Conditioner

After taking a 6 month hiatus from Biolage after it ran out, I decided to finally give in and buy Aveda Color Conserve shampoo and conditioner. Boy, do I regret it. I absolutely hated the conditioner and the shampoo, while it smells amazing, make my hair dry! I've tried the color and normalizing lines of Biolage, but currently have the Smoothing shampoo and conditioner. I love them! They make my hair smooth and soft while keeping it healthy after drying and straightening it 5 days a week. It also doesn't weigh by fine, straight and usually oily hair down either. Overall, I'd say depending on what you're looking for, either stick with the Smoothing or Normalizing line. I didn't care of the Color line, hair color fades no matter what! Also, while I love Biolage's line of shampoo and conditioner, I don't care for their styling products.

  • Aveda Color Conserve Shampoo

My hair salon used to be exclusively Aveda so whenever I went there they used all Aveda products from shampoo and styling cream to the hair color. I always have loved the smell of Aveda products and just the brand image in general with it being all natural, etc. Anyway, I finally broke down one day after getting my hair colored and bought the Color Conserve shampoo and conditioner. I have to say I am disappointed with both, but more so with the conditioner. I feel that in combination with the conditioner, my hair condition didn't improve and probably got worse (obviously the fact that I highlighted my hair and dry and straighten my hair 5 days a week contributed). I've since heard from several people, including my hair dresser, that Aveda shampoo has been known to actually be drying to the hair. After using all the conditioner and only half of the shampoo, it's been shelved and I've finally switched back to my go-to shampoo, Bioloage. The Normalizing line as well as the Straightening line are amazing, especially if you have fine, straight hair.

Not only that, but it doesn't really do much for conditioning your hair. Lancome High Resolution Collaser-5X

Eye Serum - I love this stuff

I couldn't find the eye serum version of this so I figured I'd add my two cents here. For years I used to use one of the Renergie eye creams, then I found this stuff. While it's not a moisturizer and should still be used with one, especially if you are dry in the eye are or over 30, it's really helped me with my eye puffiness. I've tried tons of other creams besides Lancome, and even gave Olay a shot (I hate the smell and texture of their products!). I'm only in my mid-twenties, so thankfully I don't have many wrinkles yet, but ever since getting out in the 8-5, M-F "real world", my inherited bags have been driving me nuts! While this is a bit more pricey, it's worth it and lasts around 6 months so that's only what, less than a dollar a day? While I absolutely LOVE that I don't have to stick my finger into a jar of cream anymore, my only complaint is the touchiness of the pump. With one full sized pump of the bottle, too much for one eye comes out. Call me frugal, but at $60 a pop, I don't want to waste this stuff!

  • Lancome Courbe Virtuose Divine Lasting Curves Mascara

Lancome Courbe Virtuose Divine Lasting Curves Mascara

Doesn't Magically Curl, but Definitely Helps

Overall, all Lancome mascaras are some of the best. I've been using Definicils for many years now. I got this mascara free and have been using it for the past couple months now. While it doesn't magically curl your eyelashes like some mascaras claim, it definitely helps. The fact that the brush is curved also helps. I use this with my shu uemura eyelash curler and together they get the job done! This mascara doesn't flake, smudge or run so I'm pretty happy with it.

  • Lancome Juicy Tubes Jelly Ultra Shiny Lip Gloss

Lancome Juicy Tubes Jelly Ultra Shiny Lip Gloss

    Overall, Pretty Good Lip Gloss

I recieved my Juicy tube in a free kit. I'm usually not the type to go out and splurge on something like a semi-sheer designer lip gloss. Overall I like it. It smells great, and while it's a little sticky, what lip gloss isn't? You have to make sure your lips are try and flake free, just as you would for any other lip gloss application. If you don't, obviously it will be more goopy. The main reason I like it, is I use it as kind of a base before putting on my lip liner and then nude lip stick. It provides a nice, smooth and even canvas. When I wear it alone it's fine too. Overall, would I go out and spend the money when you can get practically the same thing at your local CVS or Walgreen's? No. Do I like it and use it, yes.

  • Olay Total Effects Tone Correcting Eye Treatment

I've had this product along with the cream for 6 months now and the eye treatment is over half gone. I had begun using it regularly morning and sometimes night. I didn't really notice a big difference. I purchased it because I have under eye circles and my eyes are puffy, especially in the morning. I really didn't notice a reduction in either. It's ok for a moisturizer, but I have to say by biggest pet peeve about this is the texture and the shimmery finish it leaves behind, which kind of cakes up if you don't rub it all in on application. I guess to call a product "Illuminating" all they have to do is make it opalescent, which in my opinion doesn't even camouflage under eye circles. Instead it attracts attention. Try a Lancome eye product instead, they offer several that are excellent and even though they're about twice as much, they are completely worth it!
