    Gillette Venus Embrace Razor

    Embrace Shaving!

If men's razors are from Mars, women’s razors are from (Gillette) Venus! Gillette's newest for women include Venus Embrace and Venus Spa Breeze. Both offer close, safe, luxurious shaves with different benefits. The Venus Embrace has five, curve-hugging blades, spring-mounted to adjust the blades to the natural contours and curves of a woman's body. The blade cartridge sits flatter on your skin for a closer shave. Two lime, green moisture ribbons surround the shaving area top and bottom for a smooth glide, and less chance of nicks and cuts. The handle is contoured for a woman, with a rubberized feel that helps you grip and control it, even when wet. And when you’re done with the Venus Embrace, it “embraces” it’s own, white plastic “pod” holder that sticks to your shower wall with two suction cups. There’s even room for two, unused blades. The razor works nicely, but if you don’t love it, you can get your money back (the phone number is on the package).

  • It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Bronzer

It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Bronzer

    Believable minerals bronzer

While I am personally not a fan of bronzers (any type), this one is a lightweight micro-bronzer that won’t settle into fine lines and wrinkles (a great thing when it’s hot and your face, perspires). It also has hydrolyzed collagen, silk, and anti-aging powerhouses Vitamins C, E & K . The product doesn’t have talk, parabens, sodium lauryl sulfate, mineral oil, petrolatum, phthlates or synthetic Fragrance. The color looked very deep in the jar, but it went on sheer and actually, believable. Still, for those of us who just don't like the look of being too tan, use less. If you say three cheers for the "Tanning mom" you'll want to dust on several layers, and look like you’ve spent your entire life at the beach.

  • Garnier Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream SPF 15
    4.0

Garnier Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream SPF 15

like the idea, but SPF 15 is too little

Garnier is already popular for budget-minded beauty products but now they’ve got a brand new product, the Garnier SPF 15 BB Cream Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfector. It is essentially a tinted moisturizer with SPF 15. But this lightweight cream in a flip-top tube doesn’t just protect and moisturize (for up to 24 hours), it also addresses other concerns such as discoloration, dullness, and blotchiness. Apparently, this “can-do” cream has some pretty impressive attributes: After just one use Garnier’s consumer evaluation study claims that 90% of users had a more even complexion, 93% saw a more healthy glow, and 96% saw smoother skin. The fresh-smelling, rich lotion has Vitamin C, hylauronic acid, lipidure microspheres, glycerin, Vitamin C and tinted mineral pigments. It is available in two different, sheer tints: Light to Medium and Medium to Deep, and the tint is “forgiving.” That means no matter what your complexion tone, one of these two will work for just about everyone. I love the idea that this has UVA/UVB protection, but it only has a minimal SPF 15, so if you’re really going to be out in the sun, use another sun block as well (for daily exposure such as walking to the store or driving to work, it’s perfect). This is a pampering, tinted moisturizing product. On normal skin, this product nicely evens out skin tone and adds a subtle (not shiny) glow to skin. And it does cover some blotches and imperfections. However, if your skin is seriously damaged and blotchy, you may need another lotion or powder over it for more coverage. But if that’s the case, it still makes a great base.

  • Cor Silver Treatment for the Face

Cor Silver Treatment for the Face

if you absolutely loathe sunblock this is an alternative

COR Silver Soap claims to lay some SPF on your skin while you cleanse! The round, honey-colored ball of soap is so precious, it comes in a plastic cube! You can’t tell just by looking at this translucent cleanser what makes it different from another soap, but it’s the patented formula of Nano-Silver with Silica Compound that claims to actually help clear skin, remove make-up, even skin tone, reduce pore size, replenish lost collagen, cleanse and tone, exfoliate, nourish the skin and reduce the signs of aging. Some of the key, natural ingredients contained in Cor’s unique CSC (Collagen/Sericin/Chitosan) Compound play a vital role in sun protection and summer skin care, including: Sericin. This is a soluble protein isolated from silk obtained exclusively from (of all things), the domesticated mulberry silkworm. It is highly moisture-binding and film-forming, meaning that the film lingers and won’t wash away after lathering and rinsing with the soap! However, Sericin’s opalescent light-scattering quality also gives it a UV protection SPF 15 for both UVA and UVB rays. And Sericin also has an anti-oxidant and tightening quality, helping to even out the complexion as well as protecting the skin with its barrier effect that helps to prevent dehydration. Other key ingredients include Silver. known as an great antibacterial agent. Cor’s nano-silver blocks the bacteria’s ability to transfer oxygen through its cell walls, killing bacteria on contact and helping to prevent breakouts. Removal of bacteria also helps in minimizing collagen loss and preventing uneven skin tone. There is marine collagen, silica that helps disperse all of Cor’s benefits into the dermis layer of your skin, and Chitosan, a natural fiber that acts to even out skin tone and help cellular regeneration. It can absorb up to six times its weight in fat on the skin, therefore washing away unwanted oils on and below the skins surface, especially in trouble areas like the T- Zone. That’s pretty great for Summer. As they like to say in the info-mericials, But Wait! There’s MORE! Cor’s Silver Soap also contains Hyaluronic Acid for hydration, antioxidant Pomegranate, soothing Jojoba and Aloe. and Avocado’s Vitamins A and E, all important for great looking, healthy skin. While I wouldn’t use this solely as a substitute for SPF, it’s still a good idea, especially combined with other SPF products. Other benefits include nice lather, and the fact that some residue will be left on your hands as you cleanse. I would say that if you have people in your family who absolutely refuse to wear SPF protection, this will help, at least a little (but it's pricey)

ZO Skin Health Oclipse Sunscreen + Primer SPF 30

Good but not for those on a budget

This is one of those products you never knew you needed, until you tried it, and then you wondered how you ever did without it! This slightly tinted, light-as-a-feather, cream in a stunning, shiny, silver, airless pump with with up/down all-in-one cap, gives you broad spectrum protection against UVA (aging rays) and UVB (burning rays) damage. But it also soothes, softens and hydrates skin (with Proprietary Lipopeptide that stimulates collagen) and plenty of skin-loving moisturizing ingredients. Even better, makes an ideal skin primer for other makeup items including bronzers so they last longer and look better. When it’s hot outside, this really helps! This multi-tasking product provides an easy, elegant and effective way to get daily sunblock on your face without mess or fuss. The product features natural melanin and broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection. It's good, but although I can't post the price, at more than a pair of decent running shoes, you might not choose it if you're on a budget.

  • Clinique Age Defense BB Cream SPF 30

Clinique Age Defense BB Cream SPF 30

Nice, but I wish there were more tones available

This BB cream has UVA/UVB protection, but it also has lots of anti-aging goodness including antioxidant Vitamin E, caffeine, glycrrhetinic acid (to reduced skin irritation), lamanaria saccharina extract (derived from seaweed to reduce oil production), and a hydrating complex that includes trehalose, carboxylic acid, and sodium hyarulonate (all super hydrating ingredients).active Ingredients (sunscreen) are: Octinoxate, Octisalate,Oxybenone, Titanium dioxide and Zinc Oxide. I wanted to give you the exact percentages, but it's not allowed in these reviews. Wear this tinted moisturizing balm on it’s own, or under your favorite foundation, as a makeup primer. The stay-put formula is so long lasting, you should ideally remove it with makeup remover, which means you won’t have to worry about it rubbing off or running off your face in the heat! Another plus is that although there are only three tints, they’re keyed to pink or golden undertones in COLOR 01 (very light, pink undertone); COLOR 02 (very fair to moderately fair – golden undertone) and COLOR 03 (moderately fair to medium – golden undertone). The colors are “forgiving” so everyone with fair to medium skin will find the tints, tempting. But I wish there were a few more color tones to choose from.

  • Clarins UV Plus HP SPF 40 Day Screen
    10.0

Clarins UV Plus HP SPF 40 Day Screen

    It isn't discontinued

This product is not only amazing, it isn't discontinued! I just reviewed in on my own web site, samples direct from the company! Maybe they re-formulated it, but it's definitely available now. really beautifies and protects with a good amount of SPF. It has a 100% mineral filter to protect skin against UVA/UVB rays -plus antioxidant cantaloupe melon extract that helps neutralize free radicals. It also has a patented Expertise 3P Complex to help protect your skin against pollutants, and it does this all in an oil-free tinted moisturizer (thanks to plant polymers) that leaves skin protected and moisturized, and really more flawless in appearance. It’s a high tech skincare product that multi-tasks, making it ideal for travel. The texture is a nice matte (not greasy or shiny–who needs more “glow” in the the warmer months?) nd it feels nearly weightless on the skin. You can blend this beautifully, even if you just use your fingertips. It covers in one application (you can spot-dot more on if you feel you need to). Alas, there are only three sheer shades: Light, Medium and Deep. Those with the very deepest complexions may miss out, but one of the three tones will satisfy a lot of people because these tints are “forgiving. For example, I have reasonably fair skin and would normally wear Light, but the medium worked fine. Get this clever beauty goody

  • Radical Skincare Youth Infusion Serum

    Radical Skincare Youth Infusion Serum

Love the antioxidant power, but not the price

Radical Skincare products are crafted from a blend of powerful and rich anti-oxidants, and age erasing active ingredients, working together to help protect and repair the skins’ epidermal layer, while encouraging the creation of healthy new skin cells. They claim that the products have the highest antioxidant content, anywhere. In fact, Radical Skincare claims that it has an antioxidant potency so powerful, it carries more than 100 times the value of the leading brands average antioxidant score. According to the company, Radical Skincare’s antioxidant levels measure up to 1000+. I tried the serum. I liked the fast absorption, and my skin did feel much softer and hydrated. But it is a lot of money to pay for something that I feel other companies can offer in similar forms, for a lot less. That being said, over time, I think this product could make a difference in a more significant way, But one thing you have to keep in mind is that this product, or any products, have to be right for your skin, your skin concerns, and your lifestyle. Also, you must have reasonable expectations is you don’t want to be disappointed. No cream I know of is going to make your skin like that of a young girl if you’re well over 40, and the best way to avoid additional damage to your skin is to use sun protection (and stay out of the bright sun, entirely). That’s not to say that Radical Skincare won’t improve your skin and help protect and prevent further damage, but you have to be committed to the process and use the products regularly. Then, you have to continue to maintain it. Given the cost of Radical Skincare, it might be a must-have for some, or require radical re-positioning of the budget, for others.

  • It Cosmetics Vitality Lip Flush Anti-Aging Lipstick Trio

As far as I know, these are an exclusive at one of those big online shopping sites (I am not allowed to use the name but you can guess). They are supposed o be an anti-aging Lip Balm, Lipstick, Lip Gloss and Lip Stain. You might wonder how one product can do all of this, and so did I. There’s a lot to like about this lip BB. I love the hydrating formula, and there are three flattering colors: ”Damsel” is a soft nude; “Pretty Woman” is is a deep berry , and “Love Story” is a flattering, medium rose. For those who just want protection and a bit of moisture, “Je Ne Sais Quoi” is clear. While the product does a lot for your lips, the one claim I’d dispute is that it’s a lip stain. It’s a lipstick/balm, but the color isn’t translucent nor it is intense enough to call a stain. But that aside, it adds flattering color as a moist lipstick, along with a nice bit of glossy shine that’s not too much. It will make dry, chapped, sun-worn lips look and feel better while it adds color. The pampering formula is silky, and features IT Cosmetic’s patent-pending “Hydra-Luxe” Technology. The key ingredients in this are: plum oil, cherry oil, shea butter, aloe, argan & jojoba. All of these are known to be powerful hydrating ingredients. The lip product also has Vitamins A,C,E, Acai, Green Tea and White Tea, also known to be powerful antioxidants that help reduce the signs of aging and protect your precious skin. The products are made in the USA, paraben free, hypoallergenic, and non-comedogenic. They're nice, but not for the price.

  • Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief

The new, Moisture Surge Extra Thirsty Skin Relief by Clinique is perfect for travel (airplanes and air conditioning really dry out skin) and it's like a huge drink of water for your skin that lasts up to 12 hours (taking into account changes in temperature and humidity). It’s a new version of Clinique’s original Moisture Surge, that so many people already know and love. But this new moisturizer, arriving just in time for the heat of the Summer, not only understands not only what your skin needs, but the conditions under which it is operating at every moment. The peachy gel-like cream absorbs quickly leaving no sticky or greasy feel, but it leaves skin feeling soft and smooth, while it works to diminish fine lines and wrinkles. There are lots of interesting ingredients in this Moisture Surge Extra Thirsty Skin Relief, including Trehalose and Sorbitol (sugar-derived to penetrate deep into the stratum corneum (the outermost layer of the skin) to help your skin attract moisture from the environment). Hydrolyzed Extensin (naturally found in carrots) helps your skin to adjust to changes in humidity so that moisture levels in your skin are optimized. There are lots of ingredients to help you skin attract and retain moisture, including: Hyaluronic acid fragments; a new botanical blend of betula alba extract and lady’s thistle Fruit Extract; Hydroxyethyl Urea; Glycerin; and an activated (+/-) Water made with Aloe Barbadensis leaf water (the infused aloe also provides soothing and calming bennies). Also packed into this powerful jar of cream are antioxidants, and skin conditioners. This 100% fragrance free and allergy tested product is a perfect companion for Summer, when your skin will be facing a variety of environments. TIP: you can even use this as a five minute facial mask…just spread it liberally over your skin, then blot off excess or gently massage it into your skin for added moisture.
