Revlon ColorStay Makeup for Normal/Dry Skin

Probably the best foundation you can find in a drug store

I swear by this, I use it everyday and have for the past few years and have never had a problem. It has never made me break out (and my skin is sensitive) and it lasts all day long. It stays on at least 12 hour in hot or cold weather. Also, it's usually on sale at Target or Ulta, so it's a great value too.

  • MAC Lipglass
    10.0

    MAC Lipglass

Best lipgloss for dry skin. Period.

I used this religiously when I was taking medication for acne that really dried out my skin, and my dermatologist says its her favorite too. If you live in a dry climate or if your lips get chapped easily, you can use a coat of this and it will last you hours and still look super shiny and pretty. The only bad thing about Lipglass is how sticky it is... if it's windy, your hair is going to be there pretty much permanently. Still awesome though. It could also use some flavor.

  • Victoria's Secret Very Sexy Makeup Liquid Liner Pen

Victoria's Secret Very Sexy Makeup Liquid Liner Pen

    Best liquid eyeliner for non-professionals

Bobbi Brown says that she hates liquid eyeliner because it's so difficult to apply, but she said that before this awesome pen came out. It comes in several colors, and it's ridiculously easy to use. I've used Lancome, MAC and L'oreal liquids, and they all came with tiny little brushes that would flick the liner goo everywhere and make a mess. This pen is pretty much mess proof,it can't spill and the applicator gives you great precision. It doesn't last as long as the MAC and the line isn't quite as dark, but you can just reapply. By the way, it's about $12, or half of what the other brands sell theirs for.

    bareMinerals ORIGINAL SPF 15 Foundation

I'll stick to my liquid foundation

This powder is great for working out or wearing if you know you will get sweaty. But it just doesn't have the coverage that a liquid foundation has. So if you wear very light, very natural makeup and have basically perfect skin, this will work for you. Another thing, the SPF doesn't really do a lot for you. When it comes to powders that have SPF, you would have to put on coat after coat to really get enough sun protection. So just stick to sunscreen and don't rely on this to give you SPF protection.

  • Dior HydrAction Visible Defense - Hydra-Protective Light Creme SPF 20

I love this creme, it makes my skin really dewy and fresh looking, and it smells great too. I live in the desert so my skin gets dry, and it moisturizes without feeling oily. However, sometimes it does make me break out if I don't wash it off at night, so it's not the best choice if you are acne prone. Yes, it's a little pricey, but a little bit goes a long way. Plus, the "CD" looks nice on my bathroom counter.

    Benefit boo boo zap!

    Not worth $20

With a lot of Benefit products (not all of them!) you are just paying for cute packaging. This is a perfect example of that- cute box, pretty much worthless product. I used it daily and saw almost no results, but it made my skin kind of dry. Just use Clean and Clear spot treatment- it actually does something and costs about $5.

    T3 PRO.Wet-or-Dry

    Expensive, but pretty good.

I bought this for the mornings when I don't have a ton of time and need to straighten my hair when it's damp. Don't get me wrong, it's great for straightening dry hair, but NO iron is going to be completely safe to straighten wet hair. Unless you have extemely thick hair, you hair will get damaged if you straighten it wet. My hairdresser loves the brand, but agrees that you should never straighten wet hair. So with that said...you can probably just save $100 and buy the regular tourmaline straightener.

    Bonne Bell Lip Smacker

It's for kids, but it's still the best chapstick ever

These come in a few dozen flavors and most have no color (Dr. Pepper has a tiny bit of color). I love the giant sticks too! They smell awesome and taste good without being overwhelming. Guys love the flavor too! Best part- they cost less than $2 each and can last you for months.

  • Proactiv Repairing Treatment

    Proactiv Repairing Treatment

Not a miracle cure. No way.

Everyone has seen these commercials, and the product is all right, but the two biggest problems are: not sold in stores, too expensive. If you have terrible acne like some of the people in the commercial, you need something like Accutane, not this. Proactive is good for people with very mild acne, but it won't stop serious breakouts. Also, this product will make your face very sensitive to sunlight, so no tanning while you use it.

  • The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil
    8.0

The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil

Kind of stinky but it works.

This is about $9 for a tiny little bottle, but a little bit goes a long way and it lasts a while. I just put on a drop or two with a Q-tip to problem areas, and it really helps them shrink. I don't like the smell at all, but that's what you get when you use a really pure product like this. The smell goes away pretty quickly, so sometimes I use this underneath my moisturizer and foundation in the daytime and no one can tell. This doesn't work as effectively as prescription blemish treatments though, so don't buy it expecting some miracle cure for your acne. It works with small blemishes, not the big problems. See a derm for that.
