197 RepliesI recycle, use energy saving bulbs, resusable bags & wash clothes in Cold water.
We recycle cans, plastic, newspaper and cardboard. Recycling is the way to go!!!!
To be Eco friendly, I recycle & buy local whenever possible!!
I donate anything in my closet that doesn't fit or is too big. I have recently lost 70 pounds! Yeaa! I also give relatives and friends beauty products Iget that aren't right for me. Nothing used but samples that I have received that aren't age appropreate or my style LOL!
Im back on a bike,no car for me!!!
Recycle our old newspapers at our Church!
I always try to use up what I have, even if it takes a while. I also have a recycling plan at my school, where any pop cans or paper that I have during the school day go. I also try to be eco-friendly with my cosmetics. Of course, not everything I have is eco friendly, but I am on my way:) A few favorites are- Ecotools by Alicia Silverstone brushes, Korres Guava Lip Butter, Toms of Maine Apricot Deoderant, Josie Maran Argan Lipgloss, Tarte Amazonian Clay Finishing Powder & waterproof eyeliner, Tarte cheek stains, ETC, ETC.
I try to walk everywhere.
We try to be environmentally responsible in a variety of ways, including:
Bringing reusable bags on shopping trips
Reusing/repurposing disposable bags (e.g., if we forget to bring our reusable bags to the store, or if we buy more than can fit into our reusable bags, we use the disposable plastic shopping bags as liners for our small waste baskets in our bathrooms, etc.)
All other things being equal, we choose sustainably-made products.
We bring our own reusable water bottles with us rather than buying bottled water when we go out.
We use energy efficient light bulbs where possible and try to turn off lights whenever we leave a room.
We give away clothes and household items we no longer need or use.
We make some of the things we wear and use. I design and create one-of-a-kind jewelry, hand paint glassware items, and create other types of art (some of which I give as gifts rather than buying commercial items). When I needed an adjustable step to do my physical therapy exercises for my knees, my husband came up with an ingenious interlocking modular design and built it out of scrap wood we had left over from other projects.
There are lots of other examples, but these are the most common ways in which we try to do our share to preserve our beautiful and nurturing planet!
I recycle pretty much every piece of paper I get, including envelopes and junk mail. I put them through the shredder.
