The Colors of Summer
Pantone Universe has partnered with Sephora to sell nail polishes (4 in a box for $17, and one has glitter in it, one is glitter, and the other two are different shades of tangerine), an eye shadow quad ($20), blush and highlighter duo ($18), 4 lipglosses in a box ($14, making them $3.50 each), Prisma Chrome Blush in Apricot Brandy ($11), an eyeliner set of 3 pencils ($15), even a Tangerine Tango Eyelash Curler ($13), Tangerine Makeup Bag ($19), Tangerine Brush set (5 brushes for $48), and Creme Lipstick in Tangerine Tango Cream ($13). The collector's set is $48 (a value of $118.00). It includes the eye shadow quad, the blush and highlighter and lipstick. I could not believe the quality and price of these products. I bought the eye shadow quad, the blush duo, the nail polish and lip gloss sets. All of these products really last (even the gloss), and I have not had a problem with the nail polish chipping. The only thing I don't like is the glitter polish because it is next to impossible to remove. I leave that to my manicurist. The collector's set came out after the things I bought, which, I am very happy with. I am blonde with green eyes, and these colors are perfect for me. To say they went a tad overboard with everything tangerine is an understatement. But, there is something for everyone. These are high quality products with drugstore prices. Go to Sephora.com to take a look at them. You may want to order online as I noticed they are running low in the store. Shipping is free with a $50 purchase.
Milani #D Glitzy Glamour Gloss in Stylish ($7.00 at Walgreens or Walgreens.com).
Sally Hansen Natural Beauty Inspired by Carmindy Forever Stay Moisture Gloss in Creamsicle ($9.95 at Drugstore.com).
MAC has an orange lipliner called Entertain Me and a tangerine lipstick called Chaud. I have been wearing this combination for years, and it's right in season now. They still carry it. The prices are $11 for the liner and $17 for the very creamy lipstick, which really lasts. The colors match perfectly.
Revlon has a creme lipstick #712 called Hot Coral, and my mother showed it to me, and told me she started buying it in the forties. They still sell it at Walgreens, and of course, being a copycat, I bought it. I couldn't believe it's been around this long.
I guess this is enough tangerine/coral ideas for you. Hopefully you, Total Beauty Members, like this color, too. By the way, tangerine looks great with turquoise eyeshadow and chocolate color in the crease. Too Faced has a summer palette, and it looks stunning with turquoise nails. Try orange fingernails and turquoise toe nails.
Personally, I love the Sephora treats I listed above. My sister and mother (we're all makeup mavens)have tried the others, and they like the Sephora items as well as the Revlon. My mother ended up getting the Sephora Collector's set and was very pleased with the quality as well as the price.
