Cure for Dry Hair

I read that olive oil is good for your hair.  I have been trying to grow out my hair for a year (had a really short, awful haircut), but my hair is so dry, it keeps breaking.  So, I have been applying olive oil directly to my hair twice a day, and it is in great condition!  It's not dry and is shiny.  I cut off all of the broken ends, and hopefully this is the cure for growth.   I use a shampoo and conditioner called "Fast" which speeds up hair growth.  Please wish me luck.
