New York Color Liquid Lip Shine

Influenster: New York Color Liquid Lip Shine   I recently received this in my Influenster Holiday VoxBox 2011, I've heard of New York Color before, and I actually have one of their lipsticks, but I have never personally purchased their glosses before or even tried one before getting it this time.

You can check out all the other items I received here: Krystal's Influenster Holiday VoxBox 2011!

New York Color Liquid Lip Shine
Straight from the city that never sleeps, New York Color's Liquid Lipshine is uptown style at a down-to-earth price. With pure pigments that create a 3-D gloss effect and vitamin E that provides shine and moisture, this product is perfect to keep lips looking and feeling fabulous this season. Comes in 10 shades from neutral nude, to berries & fuchsias.

For a gloss, this Liquid Lip Shine is decent, it's a bit thinner than the glosses I own in my collection (Bath and Body Works, MAC, Revlon, etc.) but still has that stickier consistency. I'm actually pretty disappointed in it, mainly because I received a nude shade, and I always feel nude glosses are a waste of money because you can just buy a clear gloss and get the same effect. This gloss feels comfortable to wear, it applies smoothly and lasts a few good hours before wearing away. The shade, like I mentioned, I'm not a fan of, but I checked online and they offer many other shades that, for around $2.50ea, I would most likely try out.

The wand on this gloss is similar to my Revlon Colorburst Lipgloss, but a tad bit longer. It's very flexible, so you don't need to press hard to apply the color - it bends very easily. I'm actually not a fan of these types of wands, but it still works fine - that's just my own personal preference.

Overall, I think this gloss is pretty good for being a "lower-end" brand and only costing you about $2.50 per gloss. It's lasts quite a while, it's SUPER shiny, and it doesn't have that cheap-cosmetics-scent or flavor. I plan on picking up a few of the brighter shades next time I'm at the store, I would love to try Fashion Avenue Fuchsia for sure!

Thanks for the review on this product. I actually have an unopened one of these sitting in my purse right now waiting for me to try it! My mom gave it to me the other day. She bought it then she decided that the color was too dark for her, which she does often, lol. One of my friends that has been using this gloss lately said that she loved it and was super shiny and "lasted long enough for the price" I, like you dont like nude shades and probably would not of liked it had she gave me a nude one. Thanks again for the info, i'll post again sometime after I have tried it!
