Product review: MAC Wonder Woman collection
Where can you find these? Believe it or not, more than a dozen items from this collection are still available on MAC's website. You can also find a few items on Nordstrom.com, Bloomingdales.com, and Macys.com. Or if you can snatch up a few items in store, you should!
Here's what I have (thanks to my boyfriend, who surprised me with these on Valentine's Day):
Mineralize Skinefinish in Golden Lariat Limited edition shade
$35.00 for 0.70 oz
(compare to MAC's regular Mineralize Skinfinish $28.00 for 0.35 oz)
This is a very warm bronzer/blush/highlighter trio. It does tend to have a bit of an orange tinge to it, but still looks pretty good on my NC25 complexion. There is TONS of product, and the sections are big enough that you can easily use each shade separately. It wears well all day long, and has a nice sheen to it without being frosty or glittery. I love the huge oversized packaging, but I do wish it had a mirror.
Lipstick in Heroine Limited edition shade
$15.50 for 0.1 oz
(compare to MAC's regular lipstick $14.50 for 0.1 oz)
This is a very frosty bronze color, with microglitter. It can be applied lightly or layered on for a more dramatic look. As with all MAC lipsticks, it has the signature vanilla scent, and it is a tiny bit drying. I love the packaging on this--the red star on the inside is a nice touch, in my opinion.
Eyeshadow Quad in Valiant Limited edition shades
$40.00 for 0.2 oz
(compare to MAC's custom eyeshadow quads $49.00 for 0.2 oz, or MAC's Cutie premade eyeshadow quad $39 for 0.19 oz)
Four limited edition shades (L to R): Manila Paper (repromote), Valiant, Diana Undercover, Spinning Transformation.
I love this quad! Manila Paper and Valiant are gorgeous, although a bit sheer. Diana Undercover is a bit chalky. Spinning Transformation is lovely, but doesn't have the color payoff I had expected. However, this is still a lovely quad, with shades that work well together. It makes for a great green smoky eye look. The quad packaging is cute and sturdy feeling, with a nice mirror inside.
Lipglass in Empancipation Limited edition shade
$19.50 for 0.37 oz
(compare to MAC's regular Lipglass $14.50 for 0.17 oz)
I love this shade. Emancipation is a slightly frosty very light pink that would look good on all skintones. The wand is HUGE, and it does take a little tug to get it out of the tube (be careful not to splatter lipgloss on yourself in the process)! I love that this practical gloss is more than twice the size of a regular Lipglass, for only $5 more. I wish the shade were permanent, because it's one of my favorites. I'll definitely be trying to find a backup of this. The red metallic top is a nice touch.
Wonder Woman Red Makeup Bag $30.00
I can't say enough how much I love this bag! The metallic red, the Wonder Woman zipper pull, the blue interior with white stars... it's gorgeous and functional at the same time. Seriously, I might buy a second one in blue, I adore it that much.
Overall, I would say this is one of MAC's best collections. I love the items, and love the colors, although the quality is just average.
