How Many Beauty Products Are in Your Purse Right Now?

Do the contents of your purse reflect the state of your mind? I sure hope not, especially because right now my purse is a mess! So much so that I had no idea that I was carrying seven lip products.

Clearly I need to get a bit more organized (in my defense my car, apartment and desk are all clean and orderly). Still it got me curious about what beauty products my co-workers are carrying around on any given day (and hopefully discover that I wasn't the only crazy person carrying around that many lip products).

I ambushed a few Total Beauty team members and here is what I found. P.S. I still had the most amout of lip products.

Here are my lucky seven lip products ... a decent mix of lip balms, lipgloss and of course lipstick. I've got some big brands like Estee Lauder, Clinique and CoverGirl mixed with some smaller companies like Jane Iredale, Korres and Chivas Skin Care.

Devran, our email marketing specialist keeps it simple with just a compact, Kiehl's lip balm and lip gloss.

Sharon, our assistant editor made me feel a little bit better about myself witht five lip products and a powder foundation.

Joanna, our online marketing campaign manager kept it just as simple as Devran with a lip balm and a lipgloss. She did also happen to have some Kiehl's hand cream ... this reminds me, I need to start putting on more hand cream.

Jane, the assistant editor from our sister site Beauty Riot had a more diverse collection that included perfume, eye shadow, blotting papers and some sort of teeth whitening product. Never thought to carry perfume on me before, but as Coco Chanel said "A woman who doesn't wear perfume has no future". Might be making a trip to the fragrance counter very soon.

Our newest team member, associate editor Alexis barely had any makeup (only lip balm really). She did have a decent collection of bobby pins, a nail file, Jergen's hand cream and a lint remover. One should always be prepared.

I always have with my lip stain, lip stick, lip gloss in at least three finishes, I also carry mascara. As the day goes on my hair becomes more temperamental so I always make sure that I have a few hair ties with my when I leave in the morning.

I always have lip balm and hand cream with me, and depending on where I'm going sometimes I will grab a lip gloss and mascara for touch ups.

Try to make you feel better here! Or pity me. I'm so shameful! counted 7 lip products! Carmex, Burts Bees Pomegranate lip balm, Revlon Pink in the afternoon, Revlon Berry Smoothie and Sweet Tart lip butters, and a Maybelline Peach Sorbet Shinesentional. .......thats just a small dent, Dove Cleartone deodorant (ya never know!) Rimmel precision eyeliner, revlon tweezers, nail clippers, lint brush, hair brush, concealer brush (no concealer), .......just found 2 more lip pruducts Revlon Coralberry, and Maybelline Babylips Cherry me! Someone, do an intervention on me!

Hmm . . . why do I have so many? At all times I carry Lancome's "Dual-Finish Powder Makeup," both for use as a foundation and a powder if needed for touch-ups. This is accompanied by an Estee Lauder compact with several eyeshadows and blush. In another compartment is my go-to lipstick by Tangee and a seasonal color (red during Christmas, for instance, or an unexpected coral or bronze during summer months). Concealer is always a must, along with a roll-on size of fragrance ("Lady Million" by Paco Rabanne or Lady Gaga's "Fame"). I'm almost done . . . oil-blotting powders (whether by Clean and Clear or Powder Poudre) and teeth-cleaning brush-ups complete my stash. Now I know why I walk with one shoulder slumped over! My handbag is heavy . . .

I carry no beauty products at all in my purse... except for hair. My hair typically gets messed up very, very easily. I normally bring Bobby pins, ponytails, and a comb with me. A must have for anyone with hair like mine!

On average I pretty much know what im going to wear the next day, so my makeup pouch is packed accordingly - compact, eyeshadow, mascara, blackliner, bronzer, prob. blush, lipgloss and or lipstick. On a bad day i always make sure i have at least a tube of lipgloss with me.
