Feather or Bold Colored Hair Extensions: Love 'em or LEAVE 'EM?
I will admit right off the bat that I'm a 37 year old mother of three who truly has no business even CONSIDERING the feather or bold hair extension but I'm so curious. I'm not sure if it's because the feather clips bring me back to my youth when in the 80's EVERYONE was wearing feathers clipped in their hair; or if it's because I think it truly looks so cute. One thing I noticed when researching for this post is that no image of a woman over 30 was wearing them, but who says I can't pull it off? I'm young at heart, in personality, and I STILL get carded when asking for a glass of wine in a restaurant!
In my quest to find the perfect feather accessory I searched my staple stores: Ulta, Sephora and Sally Beauty supply. I didn't find anything at Ulta other than the Jessica Simpson Hairdo accessories but that's not what I'm looking for. Sally Beauty has MANY MANY kinds of extensions from the kind that need to be professionally "installed" to clip in ready-to-wear. I didn't find feather ones but they have all the colors of the rainbow so for me it comes down to color. Since I have Dark Brown hair with red tones, I think I'm going to try the bold red clip in for a pop of color. I really really like the blue but that would look best on someone with black hair.
Finally, old faithful Sephora came through in my quest for feather clip-ins. I'm sure there are other places to get them but I usually start looking for new products at places where I can get rewards. So at Sephora I found a product called "Sultra Feather Hair Extensions". They come in 4 different options and are only $25 each.
The company claims:
These colorful, chic hair accessories are made from natural rooster feathers that can be dried, ironed, and curled. Easy to use, the discrete clip makes applying and removing the extension simple
So again, I must decide which I want...any suggestions? Let me know you're thoughts on the feather/bold color hair extensions. Maybe you can talk some sense into me!
