Should I Grow Out My Bangs for the Summer

Hi Ladies,

Would love to get your advice on this! I really like my bangs ... It was a slow courtship at first, was definitely on the fence (especially when my forehead broke out). But over time, my skin got used to the excess oil from my hair and I grew to love how my bangs framed my face.

Anyhow as the summer is almost here, I'm wondering if I should say good bye to my bangs until the fall. I'm primarily concerned about excess sweat from the warmer days and nights. I do live in Southern California, so the heat is drier more so than humid so that is a little bit better than if I lived in some place like NYC.

Anyhow please weigh in and help me decide.  To rock bangs or not rock bangs this summer :)

Thanks!!

Gorgeous either way. But grown out is better for summer.

I think that's great!  You look really good either way.  Have a nice summer.  Carole VonAllten

Thanks everyone! After this past weekend of bbqing and dancing I think that I am going to grow them out for the summer and come October they'll definitely be back.

I vote to grow them out. You look great either way, but summer is all about easy/lazy hair, and no-bangs are way easier than bangs. You can always cut them again in the fall!

Grow them out! They look so great on you, but I think that it would be worth while for you to grow them out, then get them back in for fall. I know the feeling of having bangs, they just leave a little to much oil for me:)

I've lived in Florida my whole life and to me it's just too hot in the summer to deal with bangs.  You look good with or without, so you'll just have to decide if you can stand them when it starts getting steamy!

I think you look lovely in both of these pictures – you have the type of face that suits any hairstyle. However, if I was being to forced to choose I would say to grow out the bangs.

I think you should keep the bangs, especially since your skin has gotten used to them. Bangs do seem to make you look a little younger, but they also look very nice on you.

While I do love the bangs, I def think you should grow them out for summer. Having longer bangs is a little bit more versatile if you want to pull them to the side or pin them back. I recommend doing this ESPECIALLY since summer is coming and if you do have a tendency to perspire, having bangs does NOT help you cool off (trust me I went thru it a couple years ago). Either way you look great, but why not change it up for a new season :)

I wear bangs all year round.  I think they bring out the eyes, providing they're not too long, although I do prefer a longer bang, but not in my eyes. If you get greasy, just wash your bangs if you don't feel like washing all of your hair. Personally I like your bangs, not the grown out ones.
