beauty blending miracle
I'm ashamed to admit this, but there was a deep, dark period of my life where I was (am) obsessed with Kim Kardashian- specifically her makeup. Too often Kim K goes overboard but when it's right, it's perfect. Lucky for me, Kim's makeup people are often on her shows and post on their sites exactly what they use on her- and they all rave about the Beauty Blender sponge. I was devoted to my foundation brush and a reusable sponge sounded a little gross- not to mention the Beauty Blender isn't exactly cheap. I tried a few more affordable sponges and ended up just wasting my money. I finally bit the bullet, bought the Beauty Blender and I'm obsessed. It's like airbrushing on makeup without the fake skin look. I'm also using a lot less product than I did with my brush and washing it is super easy.
The first week I was using it, I only used it dry, which is really not how you get the best out of the sponge. Now I use it damp, it blends in product better and lets you cover more using less. I switch back and forth between mineral makeup and my liquid foundation and I'd read the sponge worked wonders with powder but was hesitant to try. Well, it makes my minerals look even better than they do when I apply with a brush. The smaller tip is great for blending concealer and the sides are good for blending in cream blush or highlighter. Beauty Blender sells a cleanser for their sponge but baby shampoo works just as well. I wash mine every other day at night - it only takes a minute- and it's good to go the next morning. What do you prefer, sponges or brushes? Any other Beauty Blender lovers out there?
