HAIR MASKS?

Im almost embarrased to say that ive never tried a homemade hair mask mainly bc im really into DIY face masks. Ive always wanted to try the mayonnaise one but ive read that you should leave it in overnight so i never thought to do it. Has anyone tried the mayo one and if so do you have to leave it in overnight?  I really want to try one today before i take a shower, does anyone have any suggestions?  Thanks!!!!

I've used an avocado mask but you only have to leave it on a few minutes instead of overnight. It seems to work well but you have to make sure you really rinse your hair well so you won't have pieces of avocado falling out of your hair all day! he,he.

My favorite product for hair masks is raw cocoa butter. Avocado is also another good suggestion. I have not tried mayo because I detest the smell but with all the fat in it, it probably would make your hair feel nice too. I always leave my hair masks on overnight because I have very frizzy, curly hair. If you have fine hair you might not want to do it overnight because it might weigh down your locks.

Avacado overnight does wonders just make sure you wrap your hair in plastic, especially if you're a "wild" sleeper...have fun!

No - the olive oil won't 'grease' up dry hair if you rub it well into your hands well first - so that you get just the smallest ampunt on your dry air.  onus - it's great for your hands!

yeah i hate mayo too unless on a Wendys bacon cheddar burger. But other than that...gross. I think it is because when i was like 6 years old my family was having a Halloween party and we were serving hamburgers and my mom told me to take the bottle of mayo outside and put it on the table, i dropped it and it went all over my kitty cat costume. Yeah....im not to fond of mayo.

hey, thanks for the tips. I never thought of using olive oil on dry hair, it doesnt make it greasy (even if you just use a little)? Im gonna have to try that. I hate mayo too, it grosses me out, lol. So the thought of putting it on my hair is nasty but i would try it if its worth it.

Great question!   Olive Oil - lovely for the hair and smells s much better than mayo! Also - I keep mine in a bottle (the kind for hair color) - and in the shower - just a little bit goes a long way  - use it on wet hair, then shampoo it out.  You can even use it on dry hair (just a small amount rubbed well into your hands and use a VERY low odor oil) this really helps get the frizzy, flyaways under control.
