Gossip Girl Katie Cassidy Shares Beauty Secrets with Me!!

I'm not famous or anything, so don't imagine that Katie and I were sitting at a Starbucks gabbing about her love life, the lipstick she is obsessed with or what it's like to play Juliet on "Gossip Girl" over our skinny lattes. I do, however, get some perks to my job here at Total Beauty and on occasion I get to ask stars like Katie Cassidy (did I mention she's on "Gossip Girl"?!) questions about their beauty routines. Such an occasion came up the other day when I read that Katie Cassidy FROM "GOSSIP GIRL" (OK, I'm done now) was working with Crest 3D White over the holidays to bring awareness to H.E.L.P (an awesome non-profit) in order to give back this past holiday season. Here is what I asked her:

Me: Can you tell us about H.E.L.P and your involvement with them? Why is it important to you to be involved with Crest and Oral-B White’s efforts to give back to the community? How does that make you feel more beautiful? 

Katie: H.E.L.P is a non-profit organization that gives orphans in Malawi the resources they need to improve their health and education. Over one million children in Africa are without a parent. H.E.L.P. reaches these children in need and provides them with the tools and guidance they need to live a happier healthier life. I love making people smile and when Crest approached me about a partnership I thought it was a good team; we both are striving to make people smile!

Me:  What are the morning and nighttime routines that you diligently follow in order to keep your skin clean, and your hair and teeth looking their best?

Katie:  Crest 3D White toothpaste, Skin Ceuticals serum and under eye cream. Also I take many vitamins. For hair I use lea Journo products ... Oil oil and more oil!

Me:  What are your favorite makeup products?

Katie: La Mer everything! Giorgio Armani foundation and YSL.

Me:  Off-set, what makeup look do you wear the most?

Katie: Mainly mascara. I try to wear as little makeup as possible when I'm not working.

Me.  What are tricks from your makeup artist (or others) that you can share with our readers?

Katie: Spencer Barnes is such a brilliant artist. He does my makeup and taught me about shading. Less is more with makeup ladies!!

Me:  What's your best/favorite red carpet makeup look?

Katie: It was the GQ party this year [pictured above]. Spencer made me look natural, yet somewhat glamorous. The purple in my eyes tied in nicely with the purple in my shoes and clutch. 

Me: Why is your smile so important to your red carpet look?

Katie: A good smile makes a woman feel more confident, therefore, looking more beautiful.

Me:  What is one beauty product that you can’t live without, and why?

Katie: Aquaphor – all I use day and night. I'm obsessed. It keeps my lips soft and moist. I think your boyfriends will be happy about that!

Me: Want to hang out later … ?
