The Pre-Wedding Chop
You've probably heard of the post-wedding chop, but I decided to do something that most brides wouldn't dream of doing. Yep, I cut six inches off my hair a mere six months before my summer wedding. (Cue gasps of horror from the bride-to-bes out there.)
It sounds like a risky move, but here's a fun fact about my hair -- it grows at an alarmingly fast rate. If I chop it off at the beginning of the year, it'll be back down to my shoulders by July. So going short isn't as big of a deal for me as it was for Rapunzel. (And if you haven't seen "Tangled" yet, you totally should. So cute.)
Of course after I walked out of the salon, I realized what I did and felt a twinge of regret. But I quickly got over it, because I've got six months to grow it out, and if I've timed it right enough, I can still get a final trim a few weeks before the big day, and it should (hopefully) be the perfect length.
Plus, I think it's refreshing to ring in the new year with a new look. Would you ever go through with a big change at the start of the most important year of your life? Or do you think I'm crazy for doing something like this? You can be honest.< Previous Post Next Post >
