Drugstore Starter Kit ~ Eyes

Hello again ladies,

Today i am going to do a drugstore starter kit. I will tell you what  i think everyone just starting out with makeup needs and some good options. I just started with makeup last year and i have a pretty big collection. Also i am debating instead of just doing text blogs doing video too, so please comment below and tell me waht you would like and i will do whatever you guys think. i love reading the comments so dont be afraid to comment because it makes me feel like what i am doing is worth while so please leave a comment! Today i will just do eyes so it wont be too long so keep checking back to see more!

Eyes:

I think you need a good all over lid color and a good crease color. If you want you can use a primer like Urban Decay but i dont have that and have never used that i have primers and bases from the drugstore that work just fine for me.You need a good mascara, and an eyeliner (if you choose to wear any.)

Some options: All over lid color- NYX sahara~ this is an amazing shade it looks very natural and is only 3 or 4 dollars. You can find them at Ulta and at their website. Crease colors- Again NYX dark brown is amazing and also elf butternut quad has some really pretty colors. All the shades i have listed are MAC eyeshadow dupes. Another eyeshadow option is Wet N Wilds pallets in Paradise Cove. It isnt with their new line it is older but the shades are amazingly pigmented and i think i got mine for $4-6 and it comes with 8 shades. The Golden colrs are amazing for all over the lid and are just like NYX sahara and the middle colors are great for the crease or setting your eyeliner.

Eyeliner- i dont have much experience with eyeliner because i dont wear it that ofter but i will share what i do like and have. Liquid - Elf liquid eyeliner in Plum - really pretty sparkly purple shade and the applicator is amazing and for only $1 what do you have to loose? Loreal Liquid Pencil Liner in plum- amazing for the upper lash line it id a gorgeous purple color and lasts all day as long as you set it with any purple eyeshadow. I dont know if they make this anymore but i do know that covergir makes something like this ~ liquid line blast i think, with some pretty vibrant colors. I havent tried it yet but i saw it in stores. beautique eyeliner is Jade and Blue Azure. these are found at Sally Beauty Supply for about $2. The eyeliner itself is sooo long it is about the length of my head. So you get a lot of product for a very good price. The colors itself are gorgeous! I like to use them on my waterline lightly just to define my eyes and give a pop of color.

Primer/Bases- Almays bright eyes concleaer/eyebase is very good. It is about $7-8 and you can usually find most drugstore products on a bogo. This keeps my shadows on all day long and if you dont like it as a base you can always use it as a concealer. Paladio herbal eyeshadow primer- very good alternative to Urban decays primer. I think it is about $7 at sallys beuty supply. I have had this since last spring and have been using it quite a bit and it still isnt gone. I know ELF has a coupke of primers but i havent tried them yet so if you have please comment below and tell me what you think.

Thank you guys so much for reading and i hope you liked this! Plese comment below if you want me to do hauls because i can do one and if you want me to do video blogs instead of just text because i can if you guys want it. if you have any questions comment below or message me or you cane e-mail me at fowler_hoops@yahoo.com. i hope this helps all you beginers !

What kind of video file are you trying to upload? You might have to convert the file so it can fit on the site. Otherwise you can split the video up into two videos.

I think she is suggesting to get both, not wear them together. But, that would be really pretty.....

Aubrey, are you suggesting we wear the plum eyeliner with the brown/gold eyeshadows you listed above? Thanks!

Thanks, Aubrey!  I'm going to try the color options and brands you suggested (I'm a Mom of two and am looking for full-time professional work in this dire economy, so I'm all about saving money and I'm a definite makeup junkie!).  Have you tried the e.l.f. MINERAL Mascara yet?  If so, does it have pretty good staying power?  I'm trying to stay away from Waterproof ones for a bit -- they tend to dry my eyelashes out. Thanks again...
