My Ridiculously Glam Makeover
This past weekend, I was super-lucky and got to attend the premiere of "Tangled," the new Disney movie (sooo cute BTW, I highly recommend seeing it). But, the best part was before the movie, when Pantene gave me a makeover.
Typically I keep my hair and makeup pretty natural, but when the pros take over, I let them do whatever they want. The result? This curly, side swept look (kept in place with a handful of bobby pins at the back of my head) and a sultry cat eye/dark lip combo. They even managed to put false eyelashes on me, despite my watery eyes (dang allergies).
While the hair and makeup artists were hard at work, I got to chat with Pantene Celebrity Stylist Danilo (pictured with me above), who shared some fun gossip/hair care tips with me:
• His philosophy: if your hair isn't healthy, it doesn't matter what color, cut or style you try, it isn't going to look great. So your number one priority should be to get your hair in the best shape it can be.
• He works with Gwen Stefani, so I had to ask him how he keeps her eternally bleach-blonde hair healthy. His secret: Pantene Restoratives. He uses the hair mask from the line on her all the time to keep her hair from drying out.
• Trends come up over and over again. Danilo did Lady Gaga's hair for her Telephone video, and you may have noticed the Diet Coke cans in her hair. Well, that's not the first time he's done that. Back in the '90s he put Coke cans in Naomi Campbell's hair (but that was regular Coke, totally different).
Bonus makeup tip: In case you want to copy the super-dark lip they gave me, the makeup artist used CoverGirl Outlast Lip Stain in Shade No. 450. She put on one coat, let it completely dry before I pressed my lips together (it was really fun sitting with my mouth open for a good minute, let me tell you), then applied another coat and did the same thing. You should also apply a lip liner to keep the color from bleeding. This method totally works though, the color looked just as bold after the movie/a bucket of popcorn.
What look do you go for when you want to get glam? Would you ever try something like mine?
