Clinique Fresh Faces Makeover Tour Stop at USC
Yesterday I had my first professional makeover - EVER.
I know what you're thinking - how can this be? How can a 23-year-old, Los Angeles girl, go this long without ever getting a makeover? Not even a free one at the mall? I was a late-bloomer, I guess. I just started wearing make up regularly in my senior year of college when I was going on interviews and interning. So yesterday, I stopped in at the Clinique Fresh Faces Makeover Event while they were at USC.
They had a huge set up with about 10 makeover stations, complete with a pre-makeup cleanse station and a post-makeup mini hair salon. I got there right as it opened but there was already a line of about 10 girls in front me. Things moved quickly and soon I was in the makeover chair. After a brief history on my skin (Oily, prone to break outs), Clinique had just the type of face wash, toner, and moisturizer for me: their Type III line with acne solutions. It felt great and the toner was even gentle on my skin, without too much of that alcohol sting I get from my usual brand.
With a clean face, I was ready to be made over! They gave me a handy card with my skin tone and list of possible products they'd be using. After talking with the makeup artist about what I was looking for, she got to work. I decided to go for the natural look, so she started with my foundation, the Fresh Beige Acne Solutions. Given my skin, this not only hides my blemishes, but also works on preventing new ones! Then she used the Deep Almost Powder and Peony Powder Blusher to give me some bronze color and rosy cheeks. For the eyes, she used the cream shadow in Rock Violet and Quickliner for Eyes in Violet. In my day-to-day, the one thing I normally wear is dark plum eyeliner, so it's nice to know that I've been using the right stuff on my own. Then to top it off, she put a thin layer of Long Last Glosswear with SPF 15 in Stellar Plum on lips.
After the makeup, I went through the mini hair salon to tame my fly-aways and set my hair in place for the "After" photo, taken by their professional on hand. Check out their handy work below:
Overall, I love this look! I don't feel like I'm wearing a lot of makeup and it'll even help my skin while I wear it. Yesterday was the last day of the Cliniques Fresh Faces Tour, but if they have another one next year, I definitely recommend checking it out!
My friend Joanne also went to the Clinique Fresh Faces Tour at USC. Check out what she had to say about the experience and the products at her post.
