Longer Lashes for a Good Cause

Latisse.jpgYesterday I chatted with Chelsie Hightower. You may have seen her fancy footwork on "Dancing with the Stars" or "So You Think You Can Dance" (my personal fave), or in the "Sports Illustrated" famous swimsuit issue or on the cover of "Fitness" mag in September. (If none of the aforementioned media opps ring a bell for you -- she's the bubbly blonde on the far left of this photo.)

Why is she with Kathy Ireland, you ask? Well, it's not a "Sports Illustrated" swimsuit issue reunion. They actually are both helping raise donations for the Latisse Wishes Challenge. Through November 30, make a $20 donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and you'll get a free trial of Latisse -- plus, Allergan (the makers of Latisse) will double your donations.

Both Chelsie and Kathy said they were skeptical of Latisse at first, but after trying the product, their lashes are bumping into their sunglasses (good problem, no?). I couldn't let these ladies off the phone without snagging a some beauty tips from them:

Chelsie: All the dancing keeps her toned, but she swears by spray tanning to help her bod look even more toned (see more tricks to faking a toned body).

Kathy: "Get a good photo re-toucher." Aside from that trusty tip, she's all about self-care such as getting enough rest (AKA beauty sleep).

P.S. In case you're wondering, Bobbie Thomas is the gal on the right -- she's the third ambassador for the campaign.

That is so great that they're doing that! I love beauty products for a good cause.

This is so cool -- charity and longer lashes! I've tried Latisse and it definitely works, although after awhile I noticed my eyelids darkening (a possible side effect) and I had to stop. But I'd say it's worth a try for sure, I wish I could keep using it! (In case anyone's wondering, the lid darkening went away once I stopped using it so it's pretty low risk to try.)

I hear tons of great things about Latise, but personally I'm kind of scared to try it. In general I'm squemish about touching my eyes so the idea of putting something on my lashes really spooks me (I haven't even tried liquid eyeliner).  Ekk.   Anyone else try out this product? Do you have to touch your eyes a lot?
