Years ago -- in a wavy-hair-is-cooler fit -- I tossed my collection of flat irons. And, to be honest, I haven't really missed them since.
Strange as it sounds, I think my husband does miss them. Whenever I come home from a salon with straightened hair, he goes on and on about it -- and this is a man who wouldn't notice if I wore turquoise lipstick.
So when I heard about the Ferrum Professional Styler, $189 -- an iron with a ceramic plate on one side and heat-resistant fabric on the other side -- I was intrigued. It's designed to leave your hair soft and shiny -- not brittle and crispy like other irons I've tried -- and the fabric makes it really east to put a natural-looking bend at the ends.
Since my straight-hair-loving husband was away this weekend, I decided to take home…

Happy Earth Day! In celebration of the international holiday, The Aveda Institute is participating in a global 24-hour cut-a-thon. Stylists in cities all over the world, including Tokyo, Sydney, Moscow, London, New York and Los Angeles are volunteering their time to give haircuts in return for a donation to the annual Aveda Earth Month campaign. The coolest part: They're attempting to set the Guinness World Record for "most money raised for a charity by haircuts in a 24-hour period." Source: Real Beauty
The lob (long bob) haircut is the trendiest cut of the season (see Nicole Ritchie and Karlie Kloss). Now, Hollywood's leading lady Jennifer Lawrence can be added to the list, making the look even more trend-worthy with bangs and face-framing layers. It doesn’t matter if she goes…

Earlier this week, Kiehl's threw a party in Los Angeles to celebrate their Earth Day initiative. Alanis Morissette -- who designed a limited edition label for the Ultra Facial Cream -- turned out to support the cause, show off her work, and dazzle everyone with her unbelievable hair.
Now, it's been about a decade since I saw Morissette in concert, but her hair is even better than I remember. Not only is it mermaid-long, it's also incredibly shiny with just a hint of natural ombre. I did some digging, and Morissette allegedly cuts it herself. I'm thinking she may have also used a little Kiehl's Crème with Silk Groom. What do you think of her look?

Victoria Beckham turned 39 yesterday. We all know her as fashion royalty and the luckiest woman alive (she's married to David Beckham, after all), but I want to reminisce about her Posh Spice glory days.
Before the stilettos, skinny jeans, and fashion empire, Posh Spice was all about the very short, very tight dresses and mostly black ensembles. She looks fantastic now, but her long bob and vampy lipstick will always hold a special place in my heart. HBD, Posh!

I am a natural blonde, but I rely on salon or boxed color to refresh my highlights and give my hair a boost every few months. So I was thrilled to visit eSalon's new headquarters in Culver City, California to get my hair colored by their renowned color director, Estelle Baumhauer. I toured their new digs, and let me tell you, they have the whole personalized at-home color thing down to an absolute science. (They won a 2013 Total Beauty Award Winner for "Best Hair Color," after all.)
While there, Estelle explained exactly how the innovative process works: You log onto their website, and one of their expert colorists gives you a personal consultation to help you choose the perfect color. Next, they custom blend your color from their library of over 2,000 shades.…
